I remember people used to make a big deal about The Unfunnies. The basic "joke" about the comic was that Hanna-Barbara-like cartoons were put in a plot about rape and pedophilia or something. It sounds pretty innocuous in a cutesy family guy oh look at how offensive i am way, but even on 4chan I remember people being pretty shocked at how messed up it was.
