Still not as bad as these US Air Force commercials. [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fiB3vrhPDNs[/hd] [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfAHw1kTpvY[/hd]
Despite being on another planet, you have to admit their CSAR commercial is pretty rad. I'll drop this here.
I'll drop this here.
Oh god I remember that.
That was a badass advert, I'm not gonna lie.
That was a pretty cool video. The UK and US vids talk about serving the nation, but that one seems more to focus on being happy in the military.
It makes me laugh cause the Russian Army has the highest suicide rate in the world
Oh god, the marines... Ever watch Generation Kill?
None of these are as bad as Japan's Navy commercials:
What are you talking about, that's brilliant. SEAMAN SHIP, SEAMAN SHIP, FOR LOVE SEAMAN SHIP, SEAMAN SHIP, FOR PEACE
But...but... if I always place the mission first and never leave a fallen comrade behind, what do I do if leaving my comrade behind is the only way to complete my mission. But seriously I would've thought it was for a movie/game for the first 20 seconds if I hadn't read this thread.
A lot of these make no sense and contradict. I'd like to analyze them all, but I simply don't have the time. You folks got any more? They're actually quite interesting and entertaining to watch, given the realities of war and service.
What the fuck is this? It doesn't make me want to join the National Guard, it makes me want to go fucking kill myself knowing that our government thinks this will appeal to people.
It's not the government, its the guy that the government hired to make the video.
Wow, that made EVEN ME want to join the National Guard of the US, and I am GERMAN!
wow, that made even me want to join the national guard of the us, and i am german!
son! Your hired!
You are sadly mistaken. The National Guard has the same things the Army has. Hell the Air National Guard has most of the F-22's we bought. This thread has a lack of Linelor/Respect for the National Guard. I would like to see you fat Facepunch nerds to get off your ass and do something remotely hard as they do, even if it is only one weekend every month.
We are not laughing about the NG, we are laughing at the people who make these cheezy adverts. And on top of that, I can respond the same. I am studying right now and I could say: I want to see those soldiers doing the things I do every day, the complicated stuff I am using, calculating, creating. I am serving my country just as good as those guys do. I had my civil service, helped sick and old people in a hospital. Is that less of an honour?
I'm doing my part!
I'll drop this here.
That's actually the concept video for the new Basic Training facility in Fort Jackson.

If their National Guard they live a completely normal civilian live next to their soldier life. Some of your coleagues could be in the Nat Guard without you even knowing it. Plus, the "normal" military isn't just like "HERES A GUN, NOW GO KILL SOMETHING" they do a lot of training aswell as academic work too. Each service has their standards. To get into the Air Force you have to be pretty smart, they don't just let anyone in anymore. And Military Academy's are some of the hardest schools to get into.
"OMG GUNS,AND GIRLZ, OMGZOMGOMZZGOMZOMGMOZG, THIS IS GOING TO BE SO EASY, I PLAYED CALL OF DUTY I WOUDL KILL ALL DA TARRORIST" after bootcamp, in Bagdahd "OMG THIS IS NOTHING LIKE CALL OF DUTY I WANT MOOMMy" [editline]11:27AM[/editline] Battles need drummerboys again.
In my opinion, I would prefer to have these kind of people fighting our pointless wars. And when the time comes for North Korea, I will gladly serve.
Pretty lame recruit commercial. I have seen like ten times better ones here in Finland.
Can't help but think of Starship troopers from watching this.
Unrelated but is it just me or does the ACU not blend in with anything and looks fucking retarded.
It's effective for urban and desert environments from what I've seen, although I do agree we should go back to the M81 Woodland days.
While the army was out defending uncle sam, the national guard was hiding under his front porch.
I think you may have missed the part where Birth of the Nation and Triumph of the Will glorified the KKK and the Nazi's respectively. At least, I hope you missed it.
More like every country ever. "Obama is Hitler because they both drink water, it's that simple!"
In my opinion, I would prefer to have these kind of people fighting our pointless wars. And when the time comes for North Korea, I will gladly serve.
north korea wouldn't be a pointless war?
OP is a queer if he doesn't find that awesome [editline]06:19PM[/editline] I think they chose the right place to advertise it... i saw it just before 2012, so i can imagine that anyone who wants to see 2012 for it's special effect glory would want to join the national guard after watching that
"Sign up now, and after a year of getting shot at, right when you're about to go home, we extend your tour another six months! Act now and you too could wind up bleeding to death in the sand after getting your legs blown off by an IED! Like shooting Muslims to protect America's oil? Well you're in luck!" .
Because this war's about oil, right. This didn't have anything to do with it
Looks like they're trying to appeal to the video-game playing generation. It's not working. Also, maybe I don't understand what the National Guard does, but last I checked, it did not involve scubaing underwater with silenced assault rifles.

Lol at over-dramatization

Wow that has got to be one of the worst army commercials I have ever seen. Well maybe except that Russian one. But damn, America, get your act together.
