How do people come to become extras? Always thought it would be a fun little thing to do.
Ah man my nipples went so hard
Cool

This I want to know.
If the Dark Knight Rises doesn't turn out to be the greatest movie ever manufactured by human race, I will hold you responsible
How is BB Bat-mobile?
The Bat Bike.
That's pretty awesome. The only thing better than being an extra is having an important role in the film, but being an extra alone is freakin' sweet.
My girlfriend is an extra in the new Footloose movie, you can see her a couple of times in the trailer. It's funny to think Georgia has become a hotspot for filming in recent times. She's also an extra in a new Queen Latifa and Dolly Parton movie also shot here. They paid really good too, she ended up making around $180.00 for one day being there.
And it's not like it's an amazingly hard job to get, either. Plus the fact that you could point out in the film where you are and have that memory forever.
Unless they cut the scene and don't leave it with the deleted scenes on it's expensive deluxe special edition dvd.
A friend of mine is an extra here as well. He's a monotone motherfucker though, don't see how he was accepted.
And fuck yeah, more FPers from Pittsburgh! :D
Pittsburgher reporting in, however I didn't go downtown to be an extra.
Oh, the only real reason why Pittsburgh is becoming a popular filming location, is because of how cheap it is to film here.
Today was my first day. I didn't meet Christian Bale or anyone though. I was in a vital scene of the movie.
We were not given any context for the scene, we were told to act surprised and flustered as the batmobile speeds by. The friend I came with was chosen to physically run out of the way of the batmobile.
The BB is supposed to blow thru a wall of the Carnegie museum. Obviously they cant do that so I suppose they are gonna use CGI.
Couldn't get pics of the scene as my phone was taken on entry, but I managed to get pics of the BB as I was leaving. Check it out.

Hell yeah, man! What area you from?
It's badass that this city used to be smog and dirt and grime back in the day but now it's coming up in the world as a big medical and cultural center.
Stay classy pittsburgh.

I once pretended to be an extra for an episode of White Collar that was being filmed at the ferry terminal in NYC. I followed all the instructions and was filmed for about an hour until someone involved in production came up to me and asked "Are you an extra?" I said "Yes." He saw through my bullshit and said "No your not, please leave." I grabbed the next boat and later saw that I was not in any scenes when the episode premiered.
flecktarn ftw
My friend at work went up to Pittsburgh tried out for this; i'm not sure if he was accepted though.

Actually on the outskirts, Greensburg to be exact (about a half hour away), but I do a lot of work in the city, so I'm there at least four times a week.
Did you get how much money for the scene?
From what I was told from a few friends, they give you a big ass buffet and like, $20 a day.

Yeah, the news has been mentioning this from time to time.
And as for the Pirates...still not the best but definitely getting better.
Fucking hell this thread got spammed with stupid replies. Deleted them so you don't have to scroll past them all ughhh.
Anyways that's awesome OP
That's too awesome, one of my friends recently played an extra for The Walking Dead when they filmed in my high school (I jizzed when I heard that) and the surrounding area. I was pretty pissed when I didn't hear anything about it until it was over, I would love to play as a extra zombie in The Walking Dead. Also come live in Newnan, Georgia if you want movie extras jobs to come to you. Hell my brother got to be a extra for Zombieland when they filmed here.
Oh god I just notice all the zombie movies/series being filmed here.
Batman is now tacticool!
Why is the batmobile camo color?
I don't think it is the batmobile. Given the set pics i saw [sp]it looks like bane stole a bunch of tumblers.[/sp]
