just because you were sleeping doesn't automatically mean you will survive.
There is a correlation between reduced injury and survivability with trauma with drunk/asleep individuals, but being drunk/asleep/relaxed doesn't = immortality.

Since there is no such thing as a perfect aircraft, the best thing to do is to simply leave it before something bad happens.

Note: When jumping out of a plane still in the air, make sure you use the rear set of doors. If you use the ones in front of the engines, you might get sucked in.
