Majora's Mask would have been good if the whole damn game wasn't timed. I hate being rushed to do things.
I've never really understood why people pitched such a fit about Majora's Mask's timer. It's not like you have to find all the masks, finish all the temples, and beat the final boss in one short cycle. Temples stay completed even after you reset time, as do your important items and bank-deposited rupees. Plus, playing the song of time backwards slows time a great deal, so there's really hardly any pressure at all.
You can't really say other LoZ games were better because they all describe the same adventure differently.
What. If you're talking about story, I can kinda maybe understand that. But Majora's Mask WAS better than Ocarina of Time as a game (at least in my opinion)
Ryxypo has entered a valid answer. I can't compute due to my brain fellating the cartridge.
Or something. Nostalgic, yes. (Honestly, I like LttP better) It will never, nor will any Zeldurrp game be, the best game ever.
Ryxypo has entered an invalid answer. Please repeat.
Nope.
I personally liked Paper Mario on the N64. But that was before Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time.
No it wasnt...
How bout' Dark Link? Only way to kill him was using those like Aura bombs or whatever they were.
Everyone seems to think Dark Link was some nigh-unkillable miniboss. He really wasn't. Hell, if you just face in his general direction, NOT z-target, and mash b over and over he'll go down pretty quick.
If you own the game you can legally emulate it. Legend of Zelda games at 1680x1050 with 6x AA and 8x AF? Sexy.
no, it's never legal to emulate a game. nintendo strictly tates in its warnings before you start a game that you cannot make copies of the game, which a rom essentially is.
No it wasnt...
Sorry, I meant before I played Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time, it was the best.
I remember finishing some temple in the mountains without much time left, but I still had stuff to do in that little villiage that could only be done while all the snow was melted. I had to reset time which reset all the snow. I stopped playing at that point. Really if you can't beat any one of the four areas in one cycle (especially with time slowed) you have to be awful at the game. Plus you can just go back and warp straight to the boss, then kill him and that'll melt the snow again.

Getting the big sword that doesn't break was fucking hard. Good game though, I remember it all. I loved Majoras Mask too, in fact, I preferred Majoras Mask.
I was like 9 or 10 man
Then judging a game's quality on your inability to beat it when you were so young isn't that great of a judgment
Then judging a game's quality on your inability to beat it when you were so young isn't that great of a judgment
I'll play it again then but I still hate timers
Wrong sub-forum
Amazing game
I'll play it again then but I still hate timers
I do too, usually. But the Majora's Mask timer system is more forgiving and easy to manipulate than that of most games, yet its the one I hear the most complaints about.
Dark link was easy if you had the megaton hammer since there was no way he could avoid it.
 i like this thread.
I've got the collectors edition for the Gamecube. It has ocarina, majoras mask, zelda 1 and zelda 2 on one disc. Fuckin sweet
Fuck I've beaten this game like 13 times by now.
Dark link was easy if you had the megaton hammer since there was no way he could avoid it.
Precisely. I went through the water temple dreading the eventual battle with the nefarious Dark Link, and when I get to him, I take him down with three shots of the Megaton Hammer and didn't lose any health. My jaw actually dropped.
I've got the collectors edition for the Gamecube. It has ocarina, majoras mask, zelda 1 and zelda 2 on one disc. Fuckin sweet
I have that too. I was like, FUCK YEAH when I saw it. Now I have go find the disc, find mt gamecube, and play it over again. Also need to make a cd with the complete soundtrack on it.
Tingle was the best. No doubt.
How bout' Dark Link? Only way to kill him was using those like Aura bombs or whatever they were.
I just walked upto him crouched with my shield out and started going crazy until I stabbed him :downs:
Majora's Mask would have been good if the whole damn game wasn't timed. I hate being rushed to do things.
Majora's Mask was defiantly more difficulty than Ocarina of Time. I deserve a pat on the back for getting every mask and heart in that game, good times.
You "need" every mask to beat the game... Don't hurt yourself patting your back.
Mask was kind of weird, I didn't like it that much, but now looking back, there was some really cool stuff. I liked the whole beach thing there. Why is it that I feel the Temple of Time music holds more of an emotional impact on me than anything similar in games or movies in the last 10 years? I remember I played through Twilight Princess and when you [sp]go to the destroyed Temple of Time and then convert it you can hear the same tune playing, almost unaltered[/sp]and I was like :neckbeard:
Fucking hell, yes! That hit me deep inside, and made TP that much better :3
I still hate the shadow temple all the pits and and guillotines.Best game I played on the N64 though.
it's definitely one of my favorites
