I love all Legend of Zelda games. I grew up playing them....and I still do play them. :buddy: Also, thread music;
Best game ever in my opinion. That might just be because of nostalgia value though.
I seriously don't get what the fuss is about the water temple. I never had any problems with it, and before people tell me I'm just trying to brag or something, nobody I know who have played it have had any problems with it either. The hardest part was Dark Link, but the rest of the temple is pretty easy. What's supposed to be so hard about it? Oh and Majora's Mask is a better game, but Ocarina is more enjoyable imo.
Majora's Mask was much better.

What got ME, however, was the Time block behind the longshot after you beat Dark Link. See, it's hidden from view a bit, and naturally as soon as I got the longshot I went back into the main temple, not seeing that door. So there's me running all over the temple trying to find the ONE FUCKING KEY I missed for about 3 hours before giving up and finding it in a strategy guide.
Both were enjoyable, and I had the most trouble with the Shadow Temple, not the Water Temple. Once I got the Biggoron's Sword I never used the Master Sword again, save for the final blow with Ganon.
Also Redeads scared the shit out of me.
When I was young these completely scared the shit out of me in OOT. I'd remember my heart pumping as I tried to sprint through the zombiefied castle town.
Goddamnit they need to make newer versions of these games with updated graphics, maybe a new dungeon or 2, but keep the music and stuff.
Got it in second grade, I was afraid to play it alone, so I had a friend come over EVERY DAY to play it with me.
I love you for making this thread OP.
Oh hey It's my crap thread I made back when I was new to FP :buddy: Playing though Majora's Mask atm I can't decide over which one is better tbh.
geez another zelda game? how many times does he have to save that stupid prinsess? [editline]05:22PM[/editline] nintendo had been going downhill recently.
Ocarina of Time is overrated.
geez another zelda game? how many times does he have to save that stupid prinsess? [editline]05:22PM[/editline] nintendo had been going downhill recently.
Er no. One point you seem to miss is that a large majority of these games are pretty fun.
I want to replay it now :saddowns: Threads old I guess, but I still love the game, It's my personal favorite.
This is hands down best game ever made.
I still think MM is much better, especially the dungeons. But the Shadow Temple from OOT still stands as my favorite dungeon from Zelda, and the well, mostly because when I played through them as a kid I felt genuinely scared.
OoT may be overrated but it certainly has earned its fame. It's not the best Zelda, I still stand by the opinion that Majora's Mask is the best.
Ocarina of Time is overrated.
No it isn't.
I received this game for Christmas '01 when I was 6. I was so excited to play this game. So many weeks (I played casually) spent playing this game. All the characters I met, all the people I had helped, all the bosses I had to defeat, all the hearts I collected, all the times I died and got frustrated. This game WAS a part of my childhood, and I will never forget that. I will tell my kids about OoC and how I grew up with it. I literally cried at the end of the game when this music was playing, I still shed a tear to this day whenever I beat it. I'm pretty sure all of us can agree this game was a part of our childhoods. It will never be forgotten. :smith:
Plus, playing the song of time backwards slows time a great deal, so there's really hardly any pressure at all.
The first time I played, I didn't know that, and rushed the shit out of every temple. I'd usually just barely finish a temple with maybe an hour or 2 to spare.
The only way to beat Dark Link was to lock-off and just slash away with the normal B attack, however it will hurt you, so keep a fairy handy.
Din's Fire
The only way to beat Dark Link was to lock-off and just slash away with the normal B attack, however it will hurt you, so keep a fairy handy.
That's what I did. Just bring a potion and a fairy and you'll be good to go for the rest of the temple.
Hoo hoo! Did you get all of that or would you like for me to repeat it for you?
Someone please tell me that the 3DS version does one of the following: A) be a direct port from the N64 version, or B) leave the design of the OoT itself alone. I just got my replica ocarina yesterday and I will be so mad if they change the design.

I read something about equipping the boots in the water temple and how they made it easier to equip and unequip.
Way to spoil the ending. Just kidding. Yes this was probably the one game I remember most from my childhood. Not that I'm much of an adult yet.

It was my favorite zelda game so far, wind waker is second it'd be first if the boat was faster FFFUUUUU
When I had pneumonia when I was 6, I was in the hospital for 3 days. I was so scared and homesick. My parents made a deal with me. If I was good and made it through the 3 days and cooperated with all the doctors, they'd buy me anything or take me anywhere I wanted. I didn't want anything, as soon as I got home I played ocarina of time. Now this may sound to you like a sad story about a guy who was a loser when he was a kid but it was the single happiest memory in my entire life (so far, I'm only 16)
