Saw an image one with Bob Ross said something like:
"Gotta have opposites, dark and light. Light and dark in painting. It's like in life. Gotta have sadness once in a while so you know when the good times come.
I'm waiting on the good times now."
I have no idea whether he said that or not however.
he says it here
I love the parodies :v:
I watch this when I'm angry. Calms me down like a motherfucker. Whoever says Bob Ross isn't a real artist is an idiot. He's a legend.
The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross is the most relaxing thing I think I've ever experienced, first time I saw it I was mesmerized but didn't remember his name so it was another year until I learned who he was.
If it wasn't for his voice, it would be so frustrating watching him paint like that so fast. But it's alllllll sooooooooooooooothhheeeeeeeeeeeeedddddddddd
My 'art' teacher claimed that Bob Ross didn't have any 'meaning' to his paintings once as well. I'd rather have a beautiful mountain just created for the sake of painting painted by Bob Ross than a picture of a turd by a schizophrenic because they 'feel trapped'.
Well, i was just on his website, and look what you can buy.

His videos are actually very educational, people have the idea that when you paint everything is defined as you go, but in reality it's just the the constant additive to layers of things.
He shows the so well. Ugh I wish I could have met him in my lifetime, his videos really are great and inspiring to me. They are just so simple and at the time he wasn't praised at all for his work.
I always used to watch this. I can still hear him say "all you need is a little bit of paint that lives on the edge of the knife".
Sigh.
I'd never watched this until my friend sent me a link to an episode on youtube yesterday, he said "just skip through it to see the different stages, it's interesting" because it's half an hour long. I ended up watching the whole thing, it's actually really entertaining.
Bob Ross is a warrior, his brush is his battleaxe and his palette is his shield, and with it he dominates the battlefield of art.
I always found it funny how calm he is.
"happy little sky"
I swear, this guy is so happy/ditzy, you could murder his family in front of him and he would compliment the patterns the blood splatter creates.
Did he ever do a segment on trees?

He often included painting trees in his landscape paintings as well.
Died at the age of 52. God damn what a loss.
What a Bob Loss.

Even though it's a parody, it's depressing as fuck.
I watch episodes of this if I ever need to be calmed down.

My god I was practically crying. Why was this so funny?
I wanna paint now.

Little birds gotta have a place to put their foots :unsmith:
Imagine him trying to paint a murder scene.
"Now, look at these happy little weeping family members in the background here, the itty bitty tear drops coming down, aaaaand there we go."
"These aren't stab wounds, they're happy holes."
Bob Motherfucking Ross, a true gift from God.
Wet, Slick, and ready to go and I hope you are too.
None of the videos are available anymore.
