BF1942 and BF2 all the way.
Do people still play 2142? Because that was the only BF game I haven't played, and I would love to try it out.
I think there's still some servers out there. Facepunch used to play it a lot not too long ago I believe...
I still think that BF2142 is the best BF that there has ever been.
Having watched this makes me want to sit here for a week straight bashing it out on 2142. It was easily the best Battlefield experience for me, but unfortunately the community's dying and it's virtually impossible to find any servers with teamwork present. I really hope they revisit the 2142 universe, because it had so much room for elaboration. If they made it on Frostbite 2 with an SP campaign I'd accept DICE as god. Still, there's BF3 to play yet, and I'm not sure whether or not I'm going to like it. Visually it looks amazing, but I'm not sure how the MP gameplay will pan out.

What surprises me is that in the video, they mentioned a couple of mods but never really went in-depth with them. Desert Combat was fucking huge at the time of its release, and there's several for BF2 that did or still have large communities, yet didn't get mentioned at all - for example Project Reality, Forgotten Hope 2, AIX and the Sandbox mod.
