Facepunch makes me sad when I come to DC threads. I just wish you weren't all marveldrones :wavey:
DC's non-watchmen/non-animated content has been extremely hit or miss.
Batman Begins is now a shit movie? What the fuck is going on in this thread.
because people nitpick a shitload once a movie's been out for a few years.
I will grant you that having character actually refer to themselves or each other as "Good guys" or "Bad guys" is one of the cringiest things a movie can do.
Why? It was a lighthearted line, basically a joke. It's not like it's some dark Nolan movie and their base has a sign on the front that says "LAIR OF THE BAD GUYS" or something. [editline]21st January 2016[/editline]
I'm so happy Harley at the end says they're bad guys. How could I have possibly known they were bad guys? I always watch movies thinking 'are these the bad guys? I hope they say they're the bad guys at one point, otherwise, I just won't know. and we all know real bad guys say they're bad guys, that's just how it works.' Like with the recent Avengers movie... I'm still unsure if Ultron was a bad guy. Can someone show me a clip where he says 'I'm a bad guy', just so I can be sure?
Of all the things to complain about this has to be the most ridiculous. Yes, surely the line is there to remind the viewer that these are, in fact, the bad guys. I'm sure it wasn't intended as anything more than a way of reminding the viewer that these are, of course, bad guys. It couldn't possibly be, I don't know, a joke? You know, something said in jest? No, it was probably something the writers consider a very important part of exposition for the story. [editline]21st January 2016[/editline] I mean granted, Quinn looks like a terrible, terrible character especially with that little "voices" line that seems like something an awkward schoolgirl with ADHD would say, but come on, nitpicking the use of the phrase "bad guys" is just anal.
i'm not too familiar with DC, are they even accurate with their depiction?
didnt stop people from nitpicking the hell out of nolans tdkr the moment it came out
but why would you send the entire gotham metropolitan police force into the sewers
but why would you send the entire gotham metropolitan police force into the sewers
That's not even from Begins
You can't reply to someone calling you Marveldrones with "Batman is literally the only good thing about DC comics". DC having problems with getting a Cinematic Universe doesn't mean that everything about them sucks DC has a shitload of good comics. Even more so than Marvel and usually better writers. Like Batman does indeed have more media presence and a good selection of comics but he's definitely not the best thing at DC. To say everything sucks at DC really shows you don't read DC comics. DC also owning Vertigo comics which means Characters like Hellblazer and Swamp Thing who have series widely considered to be amazing
and you just described the issue, with how modern marketing works dc is gonna flop if they dont find a way to one up marvel's presence in the movies nolan did wonders for them, and now you can watch as they go through the 5 stages of grief trying to re-make it [editline]21st January 2016[/editline] man of steel was denial, this one is anger
That's not even from Begins
Hence the
didnt stop people from nitpicking the hell out of nolans tdkr the moment it came out

didnt stop people from nitpicking the hell out of nolans tdkr the moment it came out
The Dark Knight Rises is a horrible movie.
The Dark Knight Rises is a horrible movie.
For you.
I really can't see any substance to the argument that, because the actors are all good, the movie will be good as well. It doesn't really matter the quality of the actors if the writing and directing is atrocious. They can give it their all, but if all their best effort is being put in to shit, its just going to come out shit. So Will Smith, Jared Leto, and all the others may be doing their best, but it doesn't really mean much.
People tend to forget too that a lot of the first marvel movies were trash before they came out with like, 3 good movies: Iron Man 1: Good Incredible Hulk: Bad Captain America: Decent Thor: Bad Iron Man 2: meh Avengers: Good Thor 2: Shit Captain America 2: good Iron Man 3: Decent Guardians of the Galaxy: Good Avengers 2: Decent Ant-Man: Bad I'm sure it's out of order and I missed some, but you get the idea. Marvel hasn't had a fantastic run either.
Ant-Man and Iron Man 3 were both good, what are you talking about?
Iron man 3 was the weakest of the iron man films and that's saying something as Ironman 2 was just bad.
iron man 3 was light-hearted, more of a family movie than a regular super hero film, even. but i think it was more inventive whereas 2 was just really bland and boring. [sp]tony's homemade weapons and the old, worn down suit he has[/sp] were both really fun aspects, but like a lot of other marvel movies, it'd have been better without a big dumb battle at the end, imo. would've been dope if tony had to rely on the same suit he wears throughout the movie [sp](not just appearing for about 30 seconds)[/sp]
Ant-Man and Iron Man 3 were both good, what are you talking about?
I watched ant man twice and the second time was just a complete snore. I struggled going through that a second time.
harley looks insufferable. unbearably bad
The problem with Harley is that she has no character. She was only ever likable in BTAS and since then has been pretty meh
'it's a joke' doesn't work when the joke is awful (also for someone who keeps harping on the joke thing mine sure flew over your head)
Uh, no, I quite well understood you were making a joke, which should be evident from the fact that I was addressing the point your joke was making..
it looks like a great nonsense-premise action movie and the trailer was pretty hype, but harley's LOL RANDUMB acting, and Leto's ~visionary~ take on the joker are fucking out of place in it. It's probably the product of a really cool premise and a comittee board of "what's hip and happenin' with the kids these days" people making changes to aid in marketing
I'm so happy Harley at the end says they're bad guys. Why can't we just get a batshit insane joker who just laughs maniacally and kills people through absurd "pranks" I loved Heath Ledger's performance but not every version of the character has to be a revolution. Jack Nicholson's version is still entertaining because he just acts like a crazy asshole.
The fire guy reminds me of Stamper from Newgrounds.

He would never just murder for the sake of murder. Making him a crazy mass murderer is seriously reducing his character.
can we all take a minute to remember while how "simple" (as in being pretty close to the comics) his take on the role was, he just fucking nailed it?
I would like Nicholson's Joker if he actually tried to not act like himself.

glad they took the time to add this extensive list of credits for Zuimzado
The Joker changes clothes like 5 times during this trailer alone
