Nothing better in dods than clearing houses with the Thompson and holding a live grenade to suicide bomb Germans around the tank on donner
looks super floaty and the weapons seem like they don't have any impact, but it would be real nice to have another DoD type game again
Floaty? how so?
all these people criticizing sounds and animations when it literally says pre alpha in the title
I miss goldsrc DoD.
It was slower, but somehow more intense.
This seems just a re-skinned DoD source.
Battalion at least looked a little different...

Not trying to be an ass by proving you wrong, but I figured both you and others would find it interesting regardless!
I wonder if that's the same place they recorded for MoH:A

If I remember correctly the older versions of dod tried to do some objective and airborne shit. You can do TONS of shit with a WW2 shooter . Give some maps a setting for example. So many objectives etc.
I don't know how nobody here had said it, but this looks terrible

It looks like Resistance and Liberation mixed with DoDs
I know its basically a fan remake but it doesn't seem to add anything new

also that ending

Looks like dogshit. I wouldn't pay people for this kickstarter crap. 100k? Fuck off.
I played DoD:S more than any human should and I have no shortage of reservations about this Kickstarter.
(Movement is off, rifles hardly strafing, no heavy crouching, zoom with perfect accuracy on heavy instead of kinda inaccurate semi, not enough recoil, people taking too much damage. etc.)
I dunno it looks pretty DOD:S to me.

Personally I never quite liked DOD:S's gameplay when it came to what it said on the box about supposedly being realistic, Red Orchestra was much better at that.
So Battallion was basically a fan remake of CoD2, now this looks like it's just a fan remake of Day of Defeat. I mean, the map in the videos was just a straight up remake of a DoD map.
To be fair dod_donner is a just a straight up recreation of a scene from Saving Private Ryan.
PRE
ALPHA
this means "BEFORE ALPHA"
of course it looks like shit, the fuck are you people expecting from a game that hasn't even reached the alpha stage of development
what next, the hitman beta felt too much like a beta?
I'm pretty sure I heard a German voice from Day of Defeat source in this.
I think Valve needs to make a Day of Defeat Global Offensive

Think of it this way:
You're working on a game and you have a detailed prototype with all core gameplay features playable, a clear and developed art sttyle with a bunch of assets, and you're working on development of mod tools.
Is that pre-alpha? No. That's not even close to pre-alpha. That's alpha. There's stuff to add, but core features are working even if they end up getting revised. Pre-alpha is largely a bullshit marketing term.
Tl;dr:
Don't shut down valid concerns because "it's a 'X' ".
