Nursing is awesome. If you guys ever have the chance of doing like a summer job at a hospital or nursing home I really recommend it.
The problem I have with nursing homes is that they have this really bad odor. How do you get used to that smell? (Unless for some reason Norwegian geezers don't smell bad).

If your nursing home smells like shit you have a shitty nursing home and you should push for more economic support to healthcare in your local community (It's important to take care of our elders everyone) Old people smell like old people, it's not horrible, it's just a little bit different from what you're used to humans smelling Though I do have some patients that have odor problems. When Dementia starts setting in, a sense of personal hygiene can sadly be lost. Luckily I have basement dwelling tendencies myself (when I'm not working or going to school ofc), so the smell of sweat doesn't really bother me. I have a very high threshold of gagging due to smell, but I can recall three instances where I've gagged at work. All of them when dealing with feces from patients that don't do a lot of pooping. When you have the kind of diet some of the most frail patients have and you poop as rarely as they do, what comes out is really.. "concentrated," let's say.
[sp]washed a prolapsed anus the size of a tennis ball[/sp] Hell, just wearing scrubs (the clothes doctors and nurses wears) helps to distance yourself from the fact that you're two knuckles deep into the rectum of a 90 year old woman digging out turds
no way jose, that shit ain't for me the only gore i can manage to handle is software and hardware gore and even that gets to me sometimes
