Guessing the movie was horrible. The trailers looked pretty good, and I wanted to see it mainly because of Donald Faison. Anyone want to tell me why it was so bad?
15 seconds into the trailer: "On august 28th, 2009, NASA sent a message into space farther than we ever thought possible..." uhhhh
I cheered in the cinema at the [sp]fighter jet part, where the stealth jet drone thing with the nuke is flying for the ship. It was so fucking awesome.[/sp]
WOW this wasnt a bad movie...what fucking childish remarks from people like its unoriginal well just to remind yalls stupid asses EVERYTHING HAS BEEN DONE PRETTY MUCH its 2011 people!!! movies have done eveything already pretty much.* so no one is copying anyone if so than i guess dawn or the dead copied from resident evil cause you know they both got guns and zombies oh and there both about surviving. lol the ending was cool he gets his brain into a bad ass alien body!!! HOWS THAT BAD?THATS COOL that was the highest rated comment on the trailer As for the movie, the trailer makes it look goofier than Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus, how could anyone think it looked good?
The ONLY scene you need to see from this movie.
Am I the only one that legitimately enjoyed this film?
I enjoyed it. :shobon:
lol that stealth bomber flying like its a paperclip and not a BOMBER
The ONLY scene you need to see from this movie.
3 things I learned from this clip. 1. It looks like a shitty made for CBS movie 2. Looks like a remake of Independence Day 3. Hollywood has no idea how powerful nukes are.
LOL at the stealth bomber flying like an F-18
I heard a lot of people saying that was the only good scene in the movie, I thought it'd be longer.
heard it was terrible. Battle: LA will be way better
The ONLY scene you need to see from this movie.
Awesome scene, even if the nuke and the plane with the damaged wing breaks all laws of physics. The end bit with them being alive doesn't count though. I could have written this movie better so fuck what the brothers Strauss say. In fact, since I can't seem to write a good original novel, I might do that.
worst mustache EVER.
Awesome scene, even if the nuke and the plane with the damaged wing breaks all laws of physics. I just wanted to point out that the Stealth UAV was supposed to be an X-47B. There's really not much preventing it from being as maneuverable as it was. It actually is comparable in size to an F/A-18C. Much shorter, but longer wingspan. The most implausible things about the UAVs in that clip were things only someone who wouldn't watch this movie in the first place would care about such as the fact that neither Reaper drones nor the X-47 have afterburning engines or the weapon choice and tactics employed. As someone who works in the industry I always feel as if I have to point things like this out when they come up.
Humans also win, so on the contrary the only film i can think about where the aliens win is District 9 (Wikus turns into an alien, and Christopher escapes)
Humanity lost in Avatar as they can no longer mine Pandora. It's not really a sad ending though because they made the aliens quite human in the film.
I saw this a while ago and the only thing i like about it was [sp]turk, the part where they nuke the ship (even though it musta been the weakest nuke ever since it didnt even bust out the windows of the building), and when they shoot the robot thing from the back of the truck.[/sp] other than that the movie is horrible
The ONLY scene you need to see from this movie.
I really enjoyed this scene. I really hated the movie. Especially the out of place ending style.
Humanity lost in Avatar as they can no longer mine Pandora. It's not really a sad ending though because they made the aliens quite human in the film.
And we were rooting for the aliens by the end anyway.
And we were rooting for the aliens by the end anyway.
Aye, true. I was kinda rooting for the humans just because they had that awesome dropship.
Humanity lost in Avatar as they can no longer mine Pandora. It's not really a sad ending though because they made the aliens quite human in the film.
Whats stopping the humans coming back with more forces and wiping Pandora out? On topic though, this is probably the worst film i've ever seen and ive seen some shit in my time.
And we were rooting for the aliens by the end anyway.
I wasn't.
This movie: I was rooting for the aliens just to kill off the dumbfuck annoying cast
Whats stopping the humans coming back with more forces and wiping Pandora out?
I assume we will find that out in Avatar 2. I presume the great distance and expense involved in mounting a large invasion would make it an unsupportable idea. Just depends how badly they need that "unobtanium".

The actions of Jake Sully might've been a death sentence for the Human race.

Assuming they want it badly enough to warrant a full-blown invasion, it's still going to be a struggle for humanity. The humans can't just nuke the moon because it would irradiate all of the resources making their collection difficult if not impossible so a ground/air war is the only reasonable alternative. The aliens have knowledge of the terrain and the help of the native species. They are also physically stronger and more agile. The humans would operating with limited, sporadic resupplies, and likely poor morale. The situation is akin to the British occupation of America. Despite having superior technology and resources, the British lost due to lack of motivation and powerful guerrilla tactics.
Favourite part was the song that plays during the credits and the fact that they showcase some of the CGI models during the credits. The rest of it was meh Also Detective Sergeant Angel Juan Marcos Batista from Dexter
lol that stealth bomber flying like its a paperclip and not a BOMBER
Anyone else think that that stealth bomber was surprisingly low-poly compared to the drones? Or wondering how the guy who was watching a nuke go off several kilometers away through a telescope hasn't been blinded in that eye?
The only bit i liked about it was when [sp]the lead guy had his brain transplanted into a alien body and went to protect his girlfriend[/sp] :ohdear:

Hell, I think just the shockwave would kill them at that distance.
