Happy birthday Larry Bird
Everyone, lets all be silent for all these people who died on December 7th http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/December_7#Deaths R.I.P. Can't wait to be silent for the people of December 8th, see you guys tomorrow.
it's the 8th here, RIP japan people.
Its my birthday on the 8th.
my middle name is harbor
Why all the sarcasm?
Lets remember this as the day we realized we had to help save Europe again.
Let's remember this as a day that I felt bad that someone actually cared so much about something that didn't happen within 3.8* the length of their own lifetime. (Assuming OP is 18 or younger)
my grandpappy fought on D-Day.
My grandfather fought in Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima. He got shot in the head and went into a coma for two weeks. His best friend also got his head blown off right in front of him.
Why was the OP rated so many dumbs?
Why was the OP rated so many dumbs?
Because nobody gives a fuck about pearl harbour anymore.
Because nobody gives a fuck about pearl harbour anymore.
I still give a fuck, because excluding 9/11, pearl harbor was the worst surprise attack on the United States, many sailors and marines lost their lives on that day and I think it is reverent to remember those who died.

Do we remember those who died? No. We remember the event, but we don't keep it actively in memory and give commemorations every single year or whatever it is you do. It's time you let go.

My grandpa was on one of the first ships to be hit be a Kamikaze. He might have died, but he slept in that day, so he wasn't on the deck for roll call when it happened.
i bet something sad has happened on every day of the year so please lets have a silent moment for all the people who had a bad day, every day, for the rest of our lives
-snip- I'd rather not get into this. This is why I don't usually post in threads like these.
Oh boo fucking hoo. We hear this same thing every time anyone "big" dies or anytime shocking things like this happen. When Steve Jobs died all this shit happened too. People fucking die, but it's not like the whole world knows about every single person's death. Sure, their families do and that's important. When people or events like Steve Jobs, Michael Jackson, 9/11, pearl harbor die/happen, that kind of stuff tends to make headlines and the whole world hears about it. In this situation, it just so happened to be the cause of the second world war. So don't start with that crap. Everyone's heard it a thousand times.
It's been 70 years. Do you really want us to hear about this shit 1000 times? I personally think 50 times was far more than enough.
Not very smart to post something about war, a sad day or a terrible thing that happened to America on Facepunch. It'll just get smacked down. There's a lot of fucked up people on here that just don't give a shit or have different views. So I'd say it's safe to just not ever post your own opinions or stuff like this.. I'm a supporter, but I'd rather not get hated on. Dumb x 17.... Ya see? That's just Facepunch.
Because Pearl Harbor is definitely more important than Rwandan Genocide or even the damn Civil War
It's been 70 years. Do you really want us to hear about this shit 1000 times? I personally think 50 times was far more than enough.
What are you referring to, Pearl Harbor? I'm not mourning or crying over it, I just think it's nice to remember it and keep the even in your thougts. [editline]7th December 2011[/editline]
Because Pearl Harbor is definitely more important than Rwandan Genocide or even the damn Civil War
Did I say it was? As far as I know, all of these things are fucking terrible and it's bad that they happened.
What are you referring to, Pearl Harbor? I'm not mourning or crying over it, I just think it's nice to remember it and keep the even in your thougts.
Why is it nice to remember the deaths of a few thousand people?
Did I say it was? As far as I know, all of these things are fucking terrible and it's bad that they happened.
You implied pearl harbour is more important than those by wanting to commemorate pearl harbour, but neither of those two events.
Why is it nice to remember the deaths of a few thousand people? You implied pearl harbour is more important than those by wanting to commemorate pearl harbour, but neither of those two events.
Mainly because this thread is about pearl harbor. I didn't even bring those two events up.
Why is it nice to remember the deaths of a few thousand people? You implied pearl harbour is more important than those by wanting to commemorate pearl harbour, but neither of those two events.
can you please just stop bitching
Why is it nice to remember the deaths of a few thousand people?
Also, I'm not remembering their deaths, I'm remember the people. It's nice to acknowledge their lives and remember them. It's a terrible thing that happened, the least people could do is remember them. Of course, I knew none of them personally, but I do care for everyone and I be as nice as I can. I'm sure you remember someone close to you that died. I'm sure you're not remembering their death, but the person that they were instead.
Why is it nice to remember the deaths of a few thousand people? You implied pearl harbour is more important than those by wanting to commemorate pearl harbour, but neither of those two events.
Because those people died in the line of duty and for their country. They sacrificed their lives to protect us, I think they deserve our respects for doing such an honorable thing.
Because those people died in the line of duty and for their country. They sacrificed their lives to protect us, I think they deserve our respects for doing such an honorable thing.
Fucking thank you.
They were just people doing their job, when they came under attack. A terrible event.
They were just people doing their job, when they came under attack. A terrible event.
And the fact that they signed up for that job, in itself, is honorable.
Come on guys, quit being chodes. It was a horrendous event whether you think so or not. A simple remembrance to the people it matters to isn't going to fucking hurt. It's not like we're saying PEARL HARBOR WAS WORSE THAN THE HOLOCAUST!!!! It's not a fucking competition to see how many lives we can lose.
