Hitler was a terrible military leader, but he was a rather smart politician. If he exclusively went to war with Russia and not the other allies, he could've stayed in power for much longer. Stalin knew something was up when they allied, so that gave time for the Soviets to build up their forces.
Hitler made a lot of mistakes and was very lucky however theres no getting over the fact he got germany out of the great dipression and built up an unstopable army.

Oh, Russia and socialism I love you. Stalin may of cause Pain and suffering, but without them Hitler Could of easily caused more damage. I pride the USSR. Lenin be with those that love the socialist way, that and the great music :3:
but only when America came to bail out England, let's be honest if Japan had not attacked America Hitler would probably have kept most of europe. Even when America helped England it still took nearly 3 years to push him back over ground he took in under 1 year.
Seeing the positive attitude to Communism in general on the internet makes me sick.
Napoleon was a better politician than Hitler and arguably the greatest military genius there has ever been.
I think people only like it becuase of the steryotype of the U.S.S.R.
Seeing the positive attitude to Communism in general on the internet makes me sick.
Seeing a positive attitude to Communism isn't nearly as bad as seeing a positive attitude towards totalitarian dictators but oh FP you never fail to disappoint!
Seeing the positive attitude to Communism in general on the internet makes me sick.
Generalizing an entire political system makes me sick. Lrn2Marxism

America joined the war very very late. Whilst the support they gave did help, the eventual outcome of the war was not due to America intervening. There wasn't much that could be done once they'd joined.
Actually, the revolution was more of a spontaneous uprising. If I remember correctly, the press workers began to strike, followed by every other major industry and eventually leading to the rail workers. They took control of St. Petersburg. Stalin was not involved, Lenin was in hiding in Finland, and Trotsky was on his way back to St. Petersburg from America (and then imprisoned when his ship was heading out, by Canada, I believe) as is happened. None of the leaders were there for it. It was indeed a spontaneous uprising of the proletariat and aided by the various leftist groups, and not planned. The Bolsheviks were actually expelled not long before because most of them were being huge douchebags in the Duma. Once the Bolsheviks got into the city, they took control of things, got them organized, and did some pretty assholish things that would lead eventually to the civil war being alot larger than it really should have been (mainly not compromising and expelling Mensheviks, Socialists, and Leftist groups that weren't Bolsheviks out of the city.) Anyhow, regardless, long live the people! Hail the revolution! May it inspire for many years to come! Etc.

Better music for the thread:
Russia needs a second giant parade for November 7 just like back in the good old USSR days.
I was born on November 8th, close enough to November 7th, and usually back there the celebrations ran into one another. I'd've shared a birthday with the revolution, but unfortunately Nov. 8th is also the day for the Beer Hall Putsch and some unsavory Nazi things... I contribute my own music- the Farewell of Slavianka
hell yes!! without russia we would all be speaking german right now.
It's funny that most people rank Hitler consistently worse than Stalin even though Stalin caused the death of 30,000,000 of his own people. Boxes for all of Stalin's innocent victims.
What's a Cnaba PaGOTHNKOB?
You absolutely have no idea how many people suffered because of Stalin. You don't know jack shit about communism, socialism and the soviet union, stop it.
More people suffered because of missed satire. Stop it
I'm sorry. But... Democracy > Socialism
I'm sorry. But... Democracy > Socialism
Those two are not incompatible.
Generalizing an entire political system makes me sick. Lrn2Marxism
Agreed because apparently Socialism = Bad because of the things Stalin did. That's like saying America is an awful country because of George Bush, or Germany is a bad country because of the things Hitler did. Just fucking stupid.
How did this turn into a Stalin is bad thread. Even Lenin knew Stalin was going to be a shit leader and wanted him to be removed from office. Totalitarianism is bad, no matter system of government it occurs in.
I assume this is supposed to interest me But it doesn't
I assume this is supposed to interest me But it doesn't
Judging upon your name and avatar I'm guessing that not much history does interest you.
Judging upon your name and avatar I'm guessing that not much history does interest you.
And judging your avatar.... I see you like people who can breathe, yaw. Oh and it was related to communism, which in Soviet Russia was Boshitte, and perhaps theres more interesting shits around. Maybe
Obviously some people here did not spot the sarcasm.
The only reason why I jokingly support communism is satire. Personally I think it's a shit system after what Stalin, Mao, Il-Sung, and Castro made it.
