You guys know anyone who sounds like Jim O'Rouke (in a good way)?

His rock-y stuff, not the experimental stuff

I'm not sure where this question goes, but I was wondering what you Electronicfags call this:

I know you have very meticulous ways of describing your beep boop noises. I like this song. Gimmie moar.
Are there any sites like www.sharemyplaylists.com with good playlists? Every playlist that I find is like 10 songs of pure shit, no matter what genre.
Anyone here a Ska-Punk?
Streetlight Manifesto
The Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Reel Big Fish
Less Than Jake?
Anyone..?

Hakita, have you ever listened to Fates Warning?
Hakita, have you ever listened to Fates Warning?
They're Ok, even tough not exactly what Im searching for, but listenable.
Well, I just figured you would like them in general, because they have a similar style to Dream Theater.

Actually, I think they are more Power Metal-ish than Progressive-ish.
In the liner notes to the 2005 expanded edition of the Awaken the Guardian album, Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy noted that, "very often fans and critics credit Dream Theater for creating a whole new genre of progressive metal music in the late '80s/early '90s, . . . but the truth is Fates Warning were doing it years before us."

Still a bit Power Metal-ish. Actually, now that I listen to it more, it sounds a bit like When Dream And Day Unite (the album that is). I think its listenable, but Im specifically looking for The Count Of Tuscany-ish music.
Hey, guys. A link to my last.fm profile is on the left. Basically it's for the most part alternative rock but also some underground hip hop recently.
Looking forward to some suggestions.

Anyone know any good ambient music similar to Brian Eno? I'm loving his Apollo album so hard.

Fallout Boy.
They don't suck, and they even made fun of themselves in Thanks for the Mmrs, knowing they can suck ass in music.

I am. Though you listed some of the best 3rd wave ska bands, I'll try to give you some more. I personally only like 3rd wave ska anyhow.
Check out any of the following:
Catch 22 (basically Streetlight) - "Keasbey Nights"
Save Ferris - "Come on Eileen"
Five Iron Frenzy - "Oh, Canada"
Sublime - "Wrong Way"
Mustard Plug - "The Freshman"
Berlin Project - "Gin and Juice"
Goldfinger - "Superman"
Mad Caddies
No Doubt
The OC Supertones
Skankin' Pickle
The Supervillains (My band played with them like 3 weeks ago!) - "Ex-Girlfriend"
Suicide Machines - "High Anxiety / Never Promised you a Rose Garden"
Long Beach Dub Allstars
The Forces of Evil - "Mistake / Angry Anthem"
Suburban Legends
Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution (Basically an acoustic Catch 22 / Streetlight- same singer)
The Hippos
The Planet Smashers - "Super Orgy Porno Party / Opportunity"
Smash Mouth
[spunge]
Citizen Fish
Fishbone
Those are my personal favorites, I love ska music. The songs are in parenthesis and separated by /'s. Aside from the songs I listed, they have plenty of other good songs, those are just favorites that come to mind.
Also just check out Last.Fm for a few related artists to Reel Big Fish, most of the ones I listed were on the first few pages of related artists.
Some other bands you might like that aren't necessarily ska:
Rancid
Slightly Stoopid
Long Beach Dub Allstars
Chase Long Beach (Played with them too)
311
Citizen King
The Expendables
Rebelution
Sugar Ray
Hope you find something!
I need more non-metal. Anything goes so long as it's musical. I generally don't like more commercial music because it usually follows the trend of lyrics > music and is generally pretty boring, but my mind is still open to anything really.
Some bands I like:
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Them Crooked Vultures
Panzerballett
Mezzoforte
Deltron 3030
Michael Jackson
Queen
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Stevie Wonder
Jimi Hendrix
The Mars Volta
Boston
Grand Funk Railroad
Newton Faulkner
I've been listening to a lot of hip-hop lately and I'd like more. Here's some artists I've been listening to recently.
The Beastie Boys
De La Soul
Dr. Dre
N.W.A.
Nas
Outkast
Public Enemy
The Streets
A Tribe Called Quest
Wu-Tang Clan

Thank you for posting this, it reminded me of something. I also like these bands and also happen to need some non-metal. Right now I'm mostly looking for more rock or funk, but anything will go; I'm pretty open when it comes to music.
I have two requests based more around metal if anyone can suggest any music for me.
Lately I've been listening to more silly metal. Like Balls to the Wall by Accept and This is Spinal Tap. I wouldn't mind some more. I also read Hakita's thread about Gamma Ray and now I'm hooked. If anyone could recommend another Gamma Ray album besides Land of the Free, it would be much appreciated. Either that or another good power metal band.
This is the metal I listen to
