Disillusion
Opeth (prefer their Prog Rock style on Damnation)
Katatonia
Devin Townsend
So, any suggestions what band or record I shall nest listen to?

Symphony X are rather similar to DT.
I've been getting into King Crimson recently, I bought Red, Larks' Tounges and obviously In the Court. All three are absolutely bloody fantastic, but where to now? To continue with the prog mood, I'm also interested in trying out Van Der Graaf Generator, any ideas where to start with them?
Recommend me some more singer-songwriter stuff.
Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez are really good.

Pawn Hearts is arguably the best Van der Graaf album, and give ELP (Brain Salad Surgery), Yes (Going for the One, Close to the Edge and Relayer) and Genesis (Selling England by the Pound and Lamb Lies Down on Broadway) a listen for more old fashioned prog

We can at least agree that even though In the Court is a very famous album, it would be criminally underrated even if it was still number 1 in the charts. God that album is glorious
I need to check out Lark's Tongues and Three of a Perfect Pair
I'm looking for some nice ambient/atmospheric music.

I'm looking for some not so popular melodic death metal (not because I hate bands based on how popular they are, I just prefer suggestions for stuff I probably haven't heard of). I really looking for the older melodic death metal sound like on The Gallery, The Jester Race, and Slaughter of the Soul.

Thanks for the recommendations guys, I found some really great stuff! I particularly liked Phil Ochs, it's sad how someone like that can go pretty much forgotten in history.
I also really enjoyed Tim Buckley and Coeur De Pirate. I also have been meaning to listen to Nick Cave for a while now, so thanks for that recommendation.
