Will check them out, thanks.
Metal (ex. Tool)
Rock (ex. Rage Against the Machine)
And for hip-hop fans
Political Rap (ex. Immortal Technique, 2pac, Nas)
Gangsta Rap (ex. NWA, Mac Dre, E-40)
immortal technique if you want to hear something that matters. nas and mos def amd talib kweli would fall into that section as well. classified if you wanna hear some fun, uplifting underground rap music. notorious big and 2pac and nwa and mobb deep if you wanna hear some thug shit. older eminem if you wanna laugh and think at the same time. 2pac also falls into emotional, thought provoking rap. jedi mind tricks if your having a bad day, you wont feel so alone anymore.
My top 10 artists are:
1. Immortal Technique
2. Classified
3. Nas
4. jedi mind tricks
5. tupac
6. eminem (not relapse or recovery, they suck)
7. Notorious BIG
8. andre nikatina
9. blue scholars (i am from seattle so i support local groups)
10. mobb deep
They all fucking rock, and you can find songs by any of them that suit almost any mood your in. but if you dont like rap, then this isnt for you.
Immortal Technique became kind of irrelevant once Bush was out of office. Maybe if he makes a new album he'll be notable again.
Lately I'm feeling a bit bored of my music. This is basically my whole iTunes library.

english is preferred but i dont really care about foreign languages as long as its good
Anyone know of any albums like Metallica's S&M? Really, anything with metal band + orchestra would be good, even if it isn't really "metal", musically speaking.

Dimmu Borgir are nice
Dimmu Borgir are nice
Just gave them a listen. Instrumentally, they're pretty good. However, and I suppose I should have specified this earlier, I really don't like "growling" lyrics.
And, after looking through several other symphonic metal bands, I feel I should reiterate: I'm looking for full orchestras, not just a few synthesized strings. The orchestra shouldn't feel like a backing instrument for the band, the band should feel like a component of the orchestra.
Anybody know of any?
Gimme some 60's or 70's folk, been listening to artists such as Phil Ochs, Ramblin' Jack Elliott and Fred Niel and I'd love some more!

Apocalyptica, 3 guys with cellos making metal. Pretty good stuff
[editline]07:59PM[/editline]
Also, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Duh
Apocalyptica, 3 guys with cellos making metal. Pretty good stuff
Already listen to them, but it really isn't what I'm looking for. I'm talking a full orchestra, violins, violas, cellos, basses, trumpets, trombones, tubas, french horns, english horns, clarinets, oboes, flutes, harps, timpani, the works, PLUS metal guitars, basses and drum kit. Vocals optional.
So far, the only things I've found that meet that description is Metallica's S&M concert, and most of the soundtrack to Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. That's it.
Yeah, all that comes to mind is S&M, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and Dimmu Borgir.

It seems to be what you're looking for. Plus it's got Saruman/Count Dooku, so you really can't go wrong
