Okay, that's another one added to the list. Any specific songs or albums that I should listen to?
Anyone know any good thrash bands from recent times?
I'm getting a little tired of only listening to the big four.
Gama Bomb is a truly awesome modern thrash band.
Their latest album, Tales from the Grave in Space, was released for free download off their website.

Would like some recommendations
You might like Pendulum.
not really... thanks for the suggestion though.
You may like The Mars Volta and 65daysofstatic, specifically their latest album "We Were Exploding Anyway". I'll try to think of some more.
By the way, Squarepusher is fucking awesome. Thanks pie_is_good!
Anyone got any more folk? I tried the suggested music and I liked it, would love some more.
Definitely check out Bert Jansch, he is so good. Townes Van Zandt is also good. Also, Arlo Guthrie, CSNY, The Byrds, Joni Mitchell and Neil Young (his Live at Massey Hall album is amazing).
I need a Johnny Cash like sound.
GIMME IT. :3:

I don't think I know of anyone else that has anything like that baritone, but Hank Wiliams Sr., Guy Clark, Hank Williams Jr., Willie Nelson and Townes van Zandt are all awesome.
Woody Guthrie reminds me a lot of Cash too, lyrically anyway and his demeanor, but they have different sounds musically. But if you like Cash you'll probably love him.
Thanks for suggestions. Heard and adore all of em.
Whenever I feel like listening to a Johnny Cash like sound, I might as well listen to Johnny Cash :smug:
This may be a longshot, but if you're open to newer stuff, check out the album The Dirty South by the Drive-By Truckers. It's one of my favorite country albums and it does have a lot of Johnny Cash influence on it.
But you're right, there really is only one person that sounds like Johnny Cash.
I'll definitely look into them. I'll try Brighter than Creation's Dark album too. You should have posted this in the album thread :v:
You've most definitely heard and are a big fan of Band, right, Akayz?
Honestly, I didn't think anyone here would like that kind of music. I did make a thread about this kind of music though which only got a few replies. I'm just gonna say Son Volt and Ryan Adams are great too if you like DBT.

Is there any band that gets close to the feel of Mumford and sons? I sort of like Duke Special, but he's not really the same and also is the only other I know of.
