I'd really love for you guys to suggest me some similar things to atmospheric-y chill-out styled music... things from soundtracks etc.
I don't really have a name for what I'm looking for so here are some examples:

Fair enough, I lol whenever I see Megadeth's mullet wielding guitarist
I know that in music 'everyone's opinion counts' but anyone who says they like this needs to have their thoughts censored.
I used to like Flyleaf. :smug: But it's so long ago I don't even remember what they sound like anymore, haha.

Anyway, we're making a small 2-3 minute long movie as a school project, it's going to be a "psychological thriller" with some rapist chasing and whatnot, and I need some ideas for some good creepy music.
So far I've thought of using L4D soundtrack, maybe some Sunn O))) or whatever else I can find in my library that's instrumental and creepy.
I've considered making the music myself too, but I'm a bit lazy, so maybe not.
Anything else I could use?

Check the recommend an album thread.
Why shouldn't he ask here? It doesn't matter where he did it, as long as he didn't make a new thread who cares?
plus he'll get better help here than in your thread

I'm really into mid-late 80s alternative/punk bands like The Pixies, Violent Femmes and Husker Du, can anyone suggest other bands I might like? I like their more melodic and base heavy songs with good beats.
[editline]26th October 2010[/editline]
I'm also really into 60s garage bands like The Remains and Wailers, like the same types of songs by them, don't care much about vocals as long as they're actually singing and aren't just screaming into the mic (I've actually heard songs like this from some 60s garage bands believe it or not)
I'm not sure if it's been posted before but, I'm missing a middle word for the name of the band.
I think it goes like "The _________ hips" or something, I'm not sure.
Thee Brandy Hips? Or maybe you've misheard The Flaming Lips?
None of them, sorry, but if I'm right about this, it's a Canadian band (or maybe not) that I'm looking for.
The Tragically Hip?
That's the one, thank you.
In the Flesh? - Pink Floyd
airplanes at the end are just insane if you have good audio
Anything from Bitches Brew
Hey, I'm in a music binge and I want to listen to as many classic albums as possible before I get bored.
I think I kind of know most popular bands, but I don't think I've listened to many albums, because I never get around to actually doing it. For example I haven't yet listened to a Radiohead album.
So can someone give me a list of albums that you think everybody should listen to?
Any genre or time period, as long as it's reasonably popular, i.e. that someone as culturally feeble as myself is likely to know. Because for one, I want to catch up with everything I missed, and second I'm still uncomfortable with listening to music from bands I've never heard about.
