Progressive Folk or Folk Metal Gimme it :3:
Progressive Folk or Folk Metal Gimme it :3:
http://www.progarchives.com/subgenre.asp?style=6 If it's prog then PA has it.
Nice website. I've heard a lot of those albums. I'll look into the obscure gems section :3:
Punk. That's incredibly broad and unspecific because punk has an overwhelming amount of subgenres, I know, I know. The only artists I've edged into so far (like, grabbed a couple of records and such) are Misfits and Black Flag. Don't know what else to go for, everything else seems so blurry because opinions on them even within punk fandom seem so mixed so I don't know where to turn. Help! If it helps at all, the main thing I'm interested in checking out right now is late 70s and 80s hardcore punk. But if there are any other classic, beloved artists in the whole genre (outside of hardcore) that I should hear, throw them at me. And with that confused mess of an inquiry aside, moving onto my other thing. Lynyrd Skynyrd. I got their debut record. It's incredible. I want more, but I don't know what other records of theirs I should look for. Actually while I'm at it with Skynyrd, any recommendations on good southern rock (or southern metal!) bands in general would be nice.
Grateful Dead's American Beauty album Also Van Morrison's Moondance You'll like them a lot. A good punk starting point is Television or Joy Division. That's just me.

Deez Nuts is kind of like hardcore mixed with gangster rap. Ligeia is mostly hardcore, but with a little metalcore to it. Heavy Heavy Low Low is a cool mix of mathcore, grindcore, hardcore and punk, they even have a Black Flag cover. HORSE the bands earlier work with their previous singer (see Beautiful Songs by Men and Secret Rhythm of the Universe) is punk, and R. Borlax being a bit similar to hardcore. Atom and His Package used MIDI music to make punk rock, it might be difficult to like if you don't like that and his high pitched and sometimes off key voice. The Emotron is pretty much the above mixed with GG Allin, he's hilarious. That's all I can think of, hope you like any of it. [editline]28th February 2011[/editline] And if you like the whole Southern style you could listen to Avenged Sevenfold.
I need some jazz recommendations. I am planning on learning some Jazz on guitar, but not sure where to start.
Naked City. :smug: [editline]28th February 2011[/editline] War From a Harlots Mouth :smug: Painkiller :smug: Kusudama :smug:
You might like Blood Ceremony.
Holy mother of shit. I just now bothered to check this out, and I have to say, it´s amazing. It´s like someone thought "What if we take The Doors and early Floyd or something and throw them in a blender with Electric Wizard + add a spoonful of victory", ´cause that´s sure what it sounds like. It´s so unique. Where the hell did you hear about this band?
