Can anyone recommend some really good Nu Jazz artists?
Can anyone recommend some really good Nu Jazz artists?
I'm not too familiar with the genre of Nu Jazz. But this sounds decent. [editline]28th February 2011[/editline] Woh... found this. That is a genre I need to listen to more.
Anyone looking for any Jazz or Soul to groove to check out Stones Throw records' newest podcast by Mayer Hawthorne. It's brilliant (and so is mayer hawthorne)

my favourite song by him, but a lot are good. The podcast isn't his music though, he's just the DJ. It's all old jazz and stuff, very nice to listen to.
Damn, Blood Ceremony sound pretty amazing. Thanks for that.
It's fun how I posted that 6 pages back and suddenly everyone noticed.
Punk. That's incredibly broad and unspecific because punk has an overwhelming amount of subgenres, I know, I know. The only artists I've edged into so far (like, grabbed a couple of records and such) are Misfits and Black Flag. Don't know what else to go for, everything else seems so blurry because opinions on them even within punk fandom seem so mixed so I don't know where to turn. Help! If it helps at all, the main thing I'm interested in checking out right now is late 70s and 80s hardcore punk. But if there are any other classic, beloved artists in the whole genre (outside of hardcore) that I should hear, throw them at me.
Crass Amebix
I really need some calm beautiful music like: or
Anyone got any bands like Kraftwerk? I'm completely new to this electronic, industrial kinda stuff but I'm in love with Radioactivity and The Robots by Kraftwerk!
Folk music people! I need it. I was browsing youtube one night and stumbled upon a folk music band called Branâ Keternâ! As with all music that i just end up loving, it just snapped into place in my mind and i thought to myself, i need to find more of this stuff! But the band has been rather inactive since 2007 and when i search for folk music, all i ever find is folk metal, which isn't too awful but not what i'm looking for. So if anyone here knows any band with a similar sound as this please, do share with me!
Try this. I'm after the medieval sound that Branâ Keternâ has! the songs that i linked are Magyarish folk music (romanian) and Breton folk music. But i'm also open to many other kinds! as long as it has a medieval, and older, sound to it! Nice suggestion though! thanks!
Fair enough, I'm not too acquainted with Folk Music outside the Woodie Guthrie, Bob Dylan, "Folk Metal", "Prog Folk" and so on kind of thing.

Thanks that's really cool!
Thanks that's really cool!
It may be different to some of Kraftwerk's early work, but it is a true classic electronic album. Needs to be heard about more :3:

I really need to expand my library, but I am having trouble finding new artists I like. My current collection: My last.fm: http://www.last.fm/user/B-Hazard If someone could suggest me some stuff I would appreciate it.
