I feel like I need to listen to some Bowie. Good songs/albums for a bloke to get started with? I've always overlooked him, even though I like what I hear.

The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars and Space Oddity are my favorites from him.
Yep, I've heard quite a bit of Explosions in the Sky, and I'm looking for something of that style and that spectrum of the post-rock genre. Any suggestions would be appreciated! @UberWarri0r, thanks a lot and I'll check 'em out! @Ca5bah, thank you as well!
Try Bark Psychosis' Hex album. That's the very first Post-Rock album I heard, not sure if it's the first Post-Rock album to be named so, but it's definitely early.

It's become pretty well known now.

I've never listened to Jazz in my life, and I'm likely to be playing in Jazz band next year as a bassist, can anyone recommend me some easy stuff to get into?
Miles Davis' "Kind Of Blues" is great. Try that.
Kind of Blue, actually :shobon: Also try John Coltrane and maybe some Keith Jarrett. Anyway, what's this style? It's so alive, funky, I don't know. Anyone know any more music like this?
Not sure if this is the style you're after

Can anyone recommend any songs that are similar to Otherside by the Red Hot Chili Peppers? It's a really gritty, powerful kind of song I guess.. especially the outtro (3:10)
I need something similar to Diablo Swing Orchestra's song Balrog Boogie.
Hit me up with a few of your favourite concept albums, any genre. Cheers.
