Recommend me some good stuff along the lines of The Books, Birdy Nam Nam, and The Avalanches.
if you haven't heard dj shadow yet you may want to check him and unkle out, they're both great in the sense they make heavy use of samples, like the avalanches hell, i think unkle even had an album produced by shadow for unkle psycence fiction is best, dj shadow's is endtroducing...
Thanks, will look into it.
I don't think I've put myself into the Black Metal experience all too well. Give me 3 of your very best starter albums.
I don't think I've put myself into the Black Metal experience all too well. Give me 3 of your very best starter albums.
American black metal or old black metal? Either way, my personal favourites are Wolves in the Throne Room, Negura Bunget, Skagos, Fen, and Altar of Plagues.
Mayhem - De Mysteriis dom Sathanus Agalloch - Marrow of the Spirit Wolves in the Throne Room - Diadem of 12 Stars One classic first wave, two of the (IMO more interesting) black metal fusion bands
The Beatles Pink Floyd Megadeth B.I.G The White Stripes Jimi Hendrix The Doors Led Zeppelin Black Sabbath Metallica Any suggestions? I'd prefer newer music, I often feel that I'm living in the past.
The Old Ceremony

There's no point posting a bunch of bands you like, you are accustomed to a style, therefore search the style and keep searching. :3: But in all seriousness. The Stooges, Rolling Stones, David Bowie, The Kinks, The Strokes, Foo Fighters.
Solefald norwegian avant garde black metal [editline]30th May 2011[/editline] fuck the rest
Interesting. Care to name an album? Also I don't think your second point helps. :smug: Ulver is what I'm hearing now, it's fairly awesome.
I listened to Burzum, it was sooooooooo boring
I must listen to it.
Burzum is good But it's meant to be atmospheric and stuff. So you gotta like be in the mood and stuff~
I will listen to the "Filosofem" album after this one. And I will be in the mood. :smug:
Yeah Filosofem is hailed as his best It has Dunkelheit on it. Amazing track.
Fucking hell this Ca5bah recommendation is working a treat. :psyboom:
Altar of Plagues?
I would like something similar to Seal.
I would like something similar to Seal.
I'm your man :smug: [editline]31st May 2011[/editline] You should look into the roots of Seal's influence: Sam Cooke Marvin Gaye Otis Redding Curtis Mayfield James Brown That's before you do anything because you will enjoy it a lot more in the end. In terms of modern soul sounds: Aloe Blacc, Raphael Saadiq, D'Angelo, Cee Lo Green. Some are more pop soul than others like Seal is, but you'll have to just pick and grab things you like. On Last FM it tells you to listen to people like George Michael, Phil Collins and Sting. In my personal opinion, they are way off... apart from "Sade". Got your work cut out to find another voice like his anyway. Enjoy :smug:
Looking for "demonic" or "heavy and dark" folk music. Fast paced and just aggressive folk music please. I want them to put me into a trance listening to it.
Looking for "demonic" or "heavy and dark" folk music. Fast paced and just aggressive folk music please.
