Not gonna get my hopes up for this. It's a movie based on writing like this: [t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DQtLXj1VAAEb2yh.jpg[/t]
This is 13yo sonic OC bad
Might as well call it References the movie, I will still watch it just to see how badly everything is done.
This is 13yo sonic OC bad
So is this the right time to mention that the author was pushing 40 when it was published?
I have a feeling if I watched this I'd have no clue what most of the references are since I haven't really watched or played anything new in a few years other than something like Tracer from the porn or osmosis
Literally the "Member this" film I feel like this is just trash meant to trigger your nostalgia
Speaking of South Park, it kinda reminded me of the Imaginationland episodes.
Is it just me or does it sound like the main character is trying to hard to imitate a Midwestern accent?
the source material is arguably the worst book ive ever read so i dont have high hopes
There isn't going to be a story is there. Just an hour and a half of "remember this hey remember this"
Did I see Battletoads and the Ninja Turtles?
If this does not bomb, they might aswell make a "Memes the Movie" to further monetise referencing. Can't wait to see africa.webm immortalised
I dunno where you guys saw Mario, I didn't see him.
It's only cool if I get to live in a fantasy world with characters I recognize. Seriously though I feel like everyone is giving this movie a hard time for no reason other than "REFERENCES LOL".
Not gonna get my hopes up for this. It's a movie based on writing like this: [t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DQtLXj1VAAEb2yh.jpg[/t]
Is that really a buckaroo banzai reference? That's just silly.
I was forced to listen to this book in its entirity through a teacher playing a Audiobook of it during class. Its pretty much just Sword Art Online with every other page listing 50 things that existed in the 80s.
I'm looking forward to what characters they use for the sex scene.
This 100% feels like Pixels. "We're incapable to come up with good new ideas so lets shove meaningless references to stuff people like to make a quick cash from it". What a cringe fest. And tracer is in it lmao. It's literally product placement the movie. + Nerd who can't date irl girls fucking with VR girl trope, thanks for nothing. This deserves an "insulting nerd trope" and "hey that's what millenials like right?" bingo cards.
I'd say pop culture references are a lot like botox A little bit keeps you looking hip and trendy Too much makes you look like a freak, or worse, die of paralysis
There isn't going to be a story is there. Just an hour and a half of "remember this hey remember this"
Remember Scarface?
It's a Spielberg movie, regardless of what you think this guy knows how to create a creative movie
Like Indiana Jones 4? He's also producer on the modern transformers movies. Thinking a famous name = a good movie is completely naive, especialy with this kind of ultra basic "lets reference shit people like" cash grab. Names are meaningless, especialy when the only thing your marketing campaign pushes to sell your movie is other stuff that's popular. They references stuff people have nostalgia and affection for for cynical marketing reasons, not because it makes a good movie.
Hey Gamers, "Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A Start" am I right? We Gamerz Huh?
Looks fucking terrible. I might go see it ironically
Am i the only who thinks it doesnt look that bad? Like everyone is losing their shit over this movie, it looks like it couls be cool
this movie is going to suck so much dick
Am i the only who thinks it doesnt look that bad?
I've been looking forward to this since it was announced Warner Bros. bought the film rights Like... I don't understand why people are complaining about it? What's wrong with nostalgia/reference overload?
If this does not bomb, they might aswell make a "Memes the Movie" to further monetise referencing.
"In a world where funny cats rule, one green boi is about to get dat party started. Sony Animation Presents: The Meme Movie. Dropping Like Its Hot in 2019"
Question really is, does Spielberg have another good movie in him, or is he all outta them
Not gonna get my hopes up for this. It's a movie based on writing like this: [t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DQtLXj1VAAEb2yh.jpg[/t]
I've read fanfiction better than this
This to me is what Smash Bros seems like sometimes: "Look at all these characters I love together in one game!" What the hell's wrong with that?
There isn't going to be a story is there. Just an hour and a half of "remember this hey remember this"
It's a fairly typical treasure hunt movie with some corporate conspiracy sprinkled in.
Like... I don't understand why people are complaining about it? What's wrong with nostalgia/reference overload?
Ah yes, nostalgia. Remember Tracer from Overwatch, back in good old 2016? Things were simpler then.
This to me is what Smash Bros seems like sometimes: "Look at all these characters I love together in one game!" What the hell's wrong with that?
You're comparing a fighter game with an hollywood movie. Completely different products with completely different appeal.
