What? How does Christianity affect gay marriage?
The belief in Christianity, and the bible, and the general, "God created adam and eve", allows for a shield for bigots to hide behind, under the disguise of "protecting the sanctity of marriage" or whatever bullshit they use now.
oh dear god be careful with how you phrase this christianity doesn't the church that embodies christianity does a fuckload of this
QTF Everyone please read this! Please do it! Half of the time the Catholic Church is doing odd things that aren't even Christian. Please don't generalize from this!
I didn't ignore the bulk of his post. I just didn't comment on it. I will do it for you: I don't find it a problem that my parents were Christians. My life is not harmed in any way by it.
Is what you think. I'm not saying it did, but I wouldn't enjoy knowing my grandparents are watching me wack off from heaven. ._.
lulzbocks is just being a devil's advocate what he's talking about isn't what you think it is
The ignorance of an atheist or, i guess now you're an ex-atheist asking such a question is unbearable! You're a disgrace!
uhh no?
What if the guy could have went on to cure cancer or someshit? You just don't know do you?
The greatest part about being christian is that you don't have to work at it, you just have to believe. It's like believing in santa. Going to church every week, and getting baptized doesn't "make" you a christian. Actually believing that God is real, and that he Loves, and that his son died for you , will make you a christian. Going to church, is just a way to get closer to God. Btw, if you ever can't go to church, my church has an online service, at gatewaypeople.tv. Christianity FTW!
The belief in Christianity, and the bible, and the general, "God created adam and eve", allows for a shield for bigots to hide behind, under the disguise of "protecting the sanctity of marriage" or whatever bullshit they use now.
Uhhh I support gay marriage. I don't get you point. I have no problem with it.
QTF Everyone please read this! Please do it! Half of the time the Catholic Church is doing odd things that aren't even Christian. Please don't generalize from this!
The Bible says you should stone Homosexuals. By Biblical logic the Church is right on track.
Is what you think. I'm not saying it did, but I wouldn't enjoy knowing my grandparents are watching me wack off from heaven. ._.
Don't worry Without the presence of the brain their could be no thought. So it's just vegetables watching you wack off. That may be more awkward though.
QTF Everyone please read this! Please do it! Half of the time the Catholic Church is doing odd things that aren't even Christian. Please don't generalize from this!
hey hey hey, not just the catholic church we're talking about here all of the organized religions do it (some more than others, and the Catholic church's influence on politics has always been fucking massive)
What if the guy could have went on to cure cancer or someshit? You just don't know do you?
uhh being a pastor doesn't mean you sit in a church 24/7
Lucky you. Unfortunately Christian schools do exist, and they are like that, and they do turn kids into brain washed drones, and by refusing to examine your beliefs because of a fucking selfish fear you have you are supporting them, and you should feel fucking bad.
Those schools are the worst. Parent's send their bad kids their to try and make them good, so it is nothing but terrible kids in the end.
QTF Everyone please read this! Please do it! Half of the time the Catholic Church is doing odd things that aren't even Christian. Please don't generalize from this!
If the religion wasn't there, or respected, they wouldn't have anything to hide their true, bigoted motives, the church/religion in general is an enabler. It's the crowd that stands by and watches as you get your ass beat and then robbed.
The Bible says you should stone Homosexuals. By Biblical logic the Church is right on track.
you can observe christianity but not the bible
Give me 5 examples.
Search "Christian Science School" on google.
I already said I was talking about modern science not scientific concepts
Fair enough.
no it's more of a personal jab at your personality (which can pretty much be shot right back at me)
Also fair enough. I'm usually quite intolerant of religion and religious people and I'm trying to hold it back for this thread. Old habits die hard.
What I was talking about isn't really the self-evaluating property of science, it was more of the fact that science isn't used to prove something, it's used to establish a probability that something will happen if a certain set of variables occur. There's always that chance the pencil will fly up instead of fall down
That too.
the bible was one of the key pieces of literature that proposed the geocentric model
The geocentric model was a common theory as far back as ancient Greece.
If your agnostic and looking for some type of religion. Then you should look around more, theres more religions than just Christianity. Find something that fits your personal beliefs, not something that gives you something to believe in.
The Bible says you should stone Homosexuals. By Biblical logic the Church is right on track.
No it does not.
If the religion wasn't there, or respected, they wouldn't have anything to hide their true, bigoted motives, the church/religion in general is an enabler. It's the crowd that stands by and watches as you get your ass beat and then robbed.
There was once an atheist who killed a Christian because he was a Christian. All atheists are bad, because this is obviously how atheism is supposed to work. :downs:
you can observe christianity but not the bible
Christianity would not exist without the Bible. Mary is the "Mother" of the Church. Is she the mother of the anti-gay rights movement? [editline]05:13AM[/editline]
No it does not.
Levitcus, noob.
If your agnostic and looking for some type of religion. Then you should look around more, theres more religions than just Christianity. If you want to tailor reality to make you feel good, buy some ganja.
There was once an atheist who killed a Christian because he was a Christian. All atheists are bad, because this is obviously how atheism is supposed to work. :downs:
And thus that atheist was a bigot, his motives are not hidden by the disguise of any religion and he is clearly not a very good person in my opinion. What's your point?
No it does not.
Leviticus is an interesting chapter. I suggest you read it. Brix will be shat, I assure you.
Leviticus is an interesting chapter. I suggest you read it. Brix will be shat, I assure you.
Truth: It has been uttered.
Fair enough. Also fair enough. I'm usually quite intolerant of religion and religious people and I'm trying to hold it back for this thread. Old habits die hard. That too. The geocentric model was a common theory as far back as ancient Greece.
this is true but there's a big schism between greek culture and between "modern" european culture a lot of shit got lost in translation (which is why the greek concepts of democracy didn't really carry over into England, Spain, France, etc) so the people in those areas at later dates who would've believed in the geocentric model got it through religious teachings primarily (added on top of the whole it seeming to be obvious thing) so do we agree that modern science is based quite heavily on religion here because if we do that means I can go to bed
I would like to bring up one new question and an old one. What's worse, a person who needs to fear an omnipitant being to be kind to others, or a person who just is kind to others and does not believe in an omnipitant being. Although a generalization, there is a visible portion of people who show psychotic behaviour stating "If I didn't believe in god, I'd probably have killed a person" How about Christian adds themselves. And, What is a soul? It has been described that a soul is like a disembodied mind. The brain can be damaged causing changes in the mind. It can be guessed that even if you died then your brain dies. The mind is gone. Where does the soul maintain the mind?
And thus that atheist was a bigot, his motives are not hidden by the disguise of any religion and he is clearly not a very good person in my opinion. What's your point?
I have a question. Can you point out, in modern times, an instance where the whole or majority of the Catholic Church has harmed or impeded humanity in some way.
so do we agree that modern science is based quite heavily on religion here because if we do that means I can go to bed
I still believe that religion is the product of faulty science, not the other way around. But you can go to bed knowing that you most certainly didn't lose the argument. No ground was made either way.
"1 Corinthians 6:9 (New International Version) Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders" That's the only time that homosexual is said in the bible. And what it says is the truth. The bible says nothing about stoning the gays.
