You don't necessarily have to believe in God, odd as it may sound, but use it as a figure of how you should live your life. And I don't really know what I am saying. I think you should make up your own mind by thinking (OP), and not just by going to bible class, or asking a forum full of conflicting opinions on the matter. Read the bible, read up on what science has found, and compare. Look into other religions, there isn't just one. Only reading about Christianity and the science outlook, in my opinion, seems rather ignorant, as you are ignoring other view points that could interest you more than what you have available. Don't go with any one thing because of another's opinion or because it 'sounds' right.

As your mind changes so would your soul as you agreed. Therefore if a catastophic event happened your soul would react exactly the same. Mind = Dead then Soul = Dead The idea of a soul as an afterlife does not work, even when overlooking the fact that there is no way to suggest they even exist.
