Of course not. There's no point to being a Christian either.
Other than the sweet sweet feeling knowing their people are responsible for being most likely hundreds of years of stopping progression in technology.
I use words like agnostic because people are stupid fucks and they don't know what that means. [editline]05:37AM[/editline] Not really.
I don't know what that means :(
Christianity is a pretty chill religion compared to most.
Buddhism is much more chill. On an semi-related note I can't stand teenagers who call themselves Buddhists just so they can act like they are into peace and are edgy and all that shit.
There is no proof in the existence of a God Also
Right, because religion doesn't drive people to murder, burn, rape, explode, and do god knows what else in the religions name... Right?
Most religions are made to prevent that. They where made to teach morals to society.
How you put this really makes you seem so anti-religious. I agree that close-minded zealous Christians are idiots, but if you say that the religion is ridiculous and all followers are deluded, you're just as bad.
No. Do I say that? No. I am anti religious. Very much so. Do I think everyone in them is an idiot? No. That doesn't mean i'm going to respect what you believe when I know they don't respect what I don't believe in.
ITT: Stupid Atheists prove their stupidity. Atheism = lack of belief in a deity.
Right, because religion doesn't drive people to murder, burn, rape, explode, and do god knows what else in the religions name... Right?
Yeah, because atheists never, ever do that. Ever.
Over the top Catholics =/= Christians.
If you are becoming Christian ust to be safe, It doesn't work.
Most religions are made to prevent that. They where made to teach morals to society.
Exactly. They were made. Have they instilled morals? No. They try, but no they don't.
There is no proof in the existence of a God Also
Televangelist piss everyone off so get that shit outta here.
Yeah, because atheists never, ever do that. Ever.
No, we do all that. Just not in the name of atheism. We do it for human reasons, we don't try and cover our shit up with religion.
How you put this really makes you seem so anti-religious. I agree that close-minded zealous Christians are idiots, but if you say that the religion is ridiculous and all followers are deluded, you're just as bad.
Main Entry: de·lu·sion Pronunciation: \di-ˈlü-zhən, dē-\ Function: noun Etymology: Middle English, from Late Latin delusion-, delusio, from deludere Date: 15th century 1 : the act of deluding : the state of being deluded 2 a : something that is falsely or delusively believed or propagated b : a persistent false psychotic belief regarding the self or persons or objects outside the self that is maintained despite indisputable evidence to the contrary; also : the abnormal state marked by such beliefs
If you are becoming Christian ust to be safe, It doesn't work.
Also no i'm not. Broke my auto-merge
ITT: Stupid Atheists prove their stupidity. Atheism = lack of belief in a deity.
Right, if you're referring to me, I never said anything contrary to that. That's all it takes to be an atheist.
Come join us in hellfire, brother. Ooops, confused hellfire with a fun life. I always do that.
Exactly. They were made. Have they instilled morals? No. They try, but no they don't.
They where made to, yes. But they have instilled morals into some of it's people; there are extremists who kill for going against their religion (hypocrisy in most cases).
"Suppose we grant that there is indeed some small chance that God exists. Nevertheless, it could be said that you will lead a better, fuller life if you bet on his not existing, than if you bet on his existing and therefore squander your precious time on worshipping him, sacrificing to him, fighting and dying for him." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pascal%27s_Wager There is absolutely no evidence anywhere for gods existence. The only thing you can do is argue the probability of god existing. The bible is a collection of stories and poems. It's a piece of literature, how exactly have you come to believe that this is "evidence" in any way shape or form? Bible class is just a really flimsy front for indoctrination into a belief system that nobody can prove. So good luck in deciding if you want to waste your life devoting yourself to blind ignorance and faith on the word of godbotherers whos only job it is to prey on indecisive teenagers like yourself in the name of their "god" The rest of us will be enjoying life for what it is, not wasting it hoping that something exists afterwards :v:
Televangelist piss everyone off so get that shit outta here.
Do not be butthurt, sir.
I'd say go for it, I'm Christian and I don't have any of the stereotypes that people place on Christians here.
Same here. You should really do it.
No. Do I say that? No. I am anti religious. Very much so. Do I think everyone in them is an idiot? No. That doesn't mean i'm going to respect what you believe when I know they don't respect what I don't believe in.
I have atheist friends, I respect what they believe in (or don't believe in, rather) and I've never once tried to force my beliefs on them. I can see why atheists believe what they do, I just choose not to believe the same thing. Is it so wrong for me to want my beliefs to be respected as well?
Over the top Catholics =/= Christians.
no rated dumb
Yeah, because atheists never, ever do that. Ever.
I think what he's trying to say is that there are people (although there aren't nearly as many as there once were and it's a very good thing that people are becoming more and more distant from the more barbaric teachings of religion) who do things like that because of religion, whereas the atheists would be doing it because they are just assholes/other stuff.
They where made to, yes. But they have instilled morals into some of it's people; there are extremists who kill for going against their religion (hypocrisy in most cases).
Most christians(From observation) Think it's wrong to be gay, think it's wrong to believe there is no god, etc, so much so, that it's not okay. They give the fundamentalists a place to belong. [editline]09:46PM[/editline]
I have atheist friends, I respect what they believe in (or don't believe in, rather) and I've never once tried to force my beliefs on them. I can see why atheists believe what they do, I just choose not to believe the same thing. Is it so wrong for me to want my beliefs to be respected as well?
No. It isn't. I don't expect my beliefs to be respected because out of experience, no one is going to. If you respect your friends, then more than likely, that's because they are your friends. A random persons beliefs are not going to be respected.
There is no proof in the existence of a God Also
There is no proof that there are animals on this earth we haven't discovered, but most scientists think there are.
I would like you Facepunch to help me decide on whether to become atheist or join the religious sect of the world.
Come to us my child, our pope loves you so much, its like he is inside you :catholic:
If you're a Christian to be moral then you're doing it wrong. Atheists are perfectly capable of forming their own moral code, but if you want some sort of actual guideline to follow and a church to attend, there are atheistic religions. LaVeyan Satanism, for example, isn't devil worshipping like you may think. Wikipedia it.
There is no proof that there are animals on this earth we haven't discovered, but most scientists think there are.
...What? Those things are unrelated.
I think what he's trying to say is that there are people (although there aren't nearly as many as there once were and it's a very good thing that people are becoming more and more distant from the more barbaric teachings of religion) who do things like that because of religion, whereas the atheists would be doing it because they are just assholes/other stuff.
Yeah, I can see that, but he seems to think that that's the fault of the religion. The people make those choices just like anyone else, the religion doesn't force them to do anything.
