And why would he fell threatened by it if he wasn't fired on yet?
Would you feel threatened if someone tried to mug you with a knife? Or would they have to stab you first?
Because they had guns, even an RPG, they could've killed lots of people.
The entire point is that they didn't, it was camera equipment. Damn.
At one point you here him say "I'm having a brain fart" What the FUCK does that even mean?
It's when you experience a period of random forgetfulness. For example, you're telling somebody about a certain subject and you say "It's called a-" and then you forget what you were going to say. That's called a "brain fart", or at least that's what most Americans call it..
At one point you here him say "I'm having a brain fart" What the FUCK does that even mean?
it means his mind went blank [editline]06:41PM[/editline] fuck
The entire point is that they didn't, it was camera equipment. Damn.
But they thought it was RPG's and guns. They would not have fired if they knew it was camera equipment. Hell, I didn't know it was camera equipment until I was told that they were journalists, I thought it was weapons as well.
Would you feel threatened if someone tried to mug you with a knife? Or would they have to stab you first?
So how did they know the helicopter was about to fire on them?
I can't help but find this really interesting.
They should have waved their arms and stuff instead of taking cover when they noticed the helicopters. You don't take off running if a cop points a gun at you and you haven't done anything wrong, you stand there and put your hands up so he doesn't put a bullet in you, then you can prove your innocence once the situation cools down.
So how did they know the helicopter was about to fire on them?
They didn't know, otherwise they would not have been standing there in the middle of the street looking all suspicious now would they? They might have been taking photos, since photographers use similar stances one would use when handling small arms because it's stable. That peeking around the corner thing, I don't know....It could have just been them being careful, they were war journalists so they would know to check their surroundings.

That's seriously fucked up, I'm just speechless.
So how did they know the helicopter was about to fire on them?
Would of fired at allies, on THEIR side. The helicopters were protecting other troops from being shot in the future.
Watched the video all the way through. It actually did look like they had guns at the beginning, he reported men grouping together with guns and what looked like an RPG (which would endanger the helicopter). Command granted permission to fire, and they did. Then a van came and they started picking up the terrorists (I say this because the pilot and gunner still think they are terrorists.) and it would be reasonable to assume that they are trying to take the wounded soldier and their weapons (once again, point of view). So, they reported this to command, and they once again had permission to fire, and they did. Please point out to me any fault that they made, besides "they obviously look like cameras" because that's just 100% not true. However, the attitude they take is really inappropriate though it's pretty common with soldiers. It's a fucking tragedy that they were civilians and there were two kids who were wounded, yeah no one is saying that it isn't. But they really took the best course of action in the situation.

I'm sure you mean this because im damn sure the heli wasn't that close to the camera men.
I'm amazed at the amount of hardware, men and time used to look at a bunch of bodies.
They aren't conscripts forced into the army. They are volunteers and they seem to enjoy their job. [editline]10:21PM[/editline] Bingo. Exactly what I was thinking. Just because some people filled in a back story and turned on the bawwwwworks in the video everyone has their panties in a bunch
Because one is a desperate terrorist group and the other is a modern developed military this is extremely simple.
Looked like a camera to me, and they probably had tripods as well. I don't know how some of you guys still think those were guns despite the fact it was already confirmed these were only journalists. And here's a picture of a DSLR with a larger lens attached to it, if you knew what they looked like it's quite obvious those guys were only carrying cameras. And it's stupid the soldiers said they fired at them, that's a complete lie right there. And how they laughed during the whole situation afterwards is fucking revolting. Many journalists these days carry this same lens in the picture with them, I don't know of many that carry smaller lenses. That's why I could tell it was just a camera. "Comon' baby all you gotta do is pick up a gun and we can shoot you. >:D" Sick. Fucks.
Those who rated the video funny need to get a bone-shattering punch to the face.
Thread title seems to suggests that the "civillians" were unfairly engaged. But, as we clearly see in this video, they're not "civillians" at all.
They got excited and saw what they wanted to see. Reuters reporters carrying camera equipment and Iraqi civilians being interviewed are valid and fair targets now?
This just in: sometimes in war civilians get killed
Makes me sick just watching shit like this: innocent civilians being killed by a military that prides itself with some form of excellence that obviously isn't there.
They got excited and saw what they wanted to see. Reuters reporters carrying camera equipment and Iraqi civilians being interviewed are valid and fair targets now?
you forgot guns also, the whole area was most likely restricted
It was a camera nuke that he was carrying, duh. These pilots saved thousands of lives.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. God damn it. I am not liking this at all.
Here's a hint: Most soldiers aren't photojournalists. Neither are most facepunchers.
This. I was clearly confused for a moment as to what they were carrying. I had read the background description beforehand and knew it was just cameras, but even then I had a hard time pinpointing what they were. That is, until the pilot started claiming they had RPGs and AK-47s. I disagree completely with their descriptions of what they were carrying. The profile looked nothing like either ones. They could have possibly been carrying smaller fire-arms, but assault rifles and RPGs? Although when the photographer started peeking around the corner I would have become increasingly suspicious as well. Basically my gripe with this is that they didn't accurately describe the situation, but under the specific context I feel that the soldiers acted to the best of their abilities. It's a shame it ended up being a mistake, but mistakes happen in war no matter how careful individuals are.
Say what you want, it was a clean shoot. There were AK's confirmed on the ground, You can even see one on the ground a couple minute after the engagement while waiting on the bradleys to show up, they asked for permission before shooting and got the go ahead Was a clean shoot, whether civilians were involved or not
GOD FUCKING DAMNIT. REUTERS JOURNALISTS!?! I want to rip that cunthole who was operating that UAV to shreds.
