I clearly saw weapons, if I was the operator I would have fired too because I clearly saw several weapons and that guy ducking behind the building and peaking over seemed suspicious to me.
To make myself absolutely clear, I now understand they were not weapons but there was no way they could have known that.
To all those saying "this kind of shit always happens in war," by this point it wasn't a "war" it was an occupation. And when you have military personnel who are highly trained, efficient killers doing police work, that's exactly what happens, people get killed innocent or not. This is just one more reason why we shouldn't even be in Iraq at all.
I bet you guys think they "hate us because of our freedom." It couldn't possibly be because we fly around in giant gunships killing their family members from half a kilometer away.
GOD FUCKING DAMNIT. REUTERS JOURNALISTS!?!
I want to rip that cunthole who was operating that UAV to shreds.
It was an Apache, not a UAV. And if you had actually watched it you'd probably know they looked suspicious and the pilots acted on what they were trained to do.

Fuck that gunner. Fuck him.
I hope karma catches up to him.

I'm 19 and I work out every week. You're an internet troll that says things to get a rise out of people.
Now that we know where the other stands, step away from your keyboard and go to sleep. You probably have school tomorrow.
Suddenly Facepunches belief that they should 'respect' all soldiers flies out of the window.
Suddenly Facepunches belief that they should 'respect' all soldiers flies out of the window.
No, there are people who clearly should be held responsible. This does not include all of the soldiers.
Suddenly Facepunches belief that they should 'respect' all soldiers flies out of the window.
What the... did you watch the video even? They fired on a total of 11 or so people including two children on a vague fucking suspicion that they may have been carrying weapons. Turns out they could have also been standard carrying items like cameras, bags, and... you know... not weapons. Even if they where carrying weapons the way they got excited about killing them and their lack of sympathy shows that they're screwed up people not fit for society. Not model soldiers that deserve respect for firing like a bunch of cowards from the sky.
It was an interesting video. Watched the whole thing.
I've watched a lot of Apache footage and the high majority of the time they spend a long while confirming they have weapons. That's all I have to add.

so you're calling them cowards because they fight from the air? i guess every military pilot is a coward then.
and you should watch the video, a foot soldier confirmed that one was carrying a live RPG round.

Have you ever seen how soldiers talk? Have you ever heard of army humor? This is just how squaddies talk and I know why its very distasteful for some civilians. From what I saw, a lot of people with multiple objects in their hands, long objects that could be mistaken for guns. Then for some reason one of the men looks around the corner in the street as if he was trying to spot something.

If thats not supisious, I don't know what is.
This is just how the American army acts, they have a history of friendly fire alone, its called improper training, you're all trigger happy. Soldiers are made into killing machines, you cannot expect much sympathy from a man who has been trained to kill, that is against his function as a soldier.

No, according to you everyone is a 14 year old nerd. Making you a hypocrite.
so you're calling them cowards because they fight from the air? i guess every military pilot is a coward then.
Um yeah kind of. They sure don't have half the balls WWII veterans do now do they?
Oh yeah yeah, I'm sure the foot soldier used advanced eye-balling from 200 yards away technology to confirm the obviously lethal RPG round. Too bad he couldn't use the same amazing eye-balling technique to confirm the two children in the black van trying to help the obviously threatening wounded terrorist. In fact, I'm pretty sure the entire town must be a hide out for these damn terrorists. Better send some footmen out to confirm the presence of a nested militia so we can carpet bomb the place while we poke jokes about the death we're causing.
The American army needs to sort it's training programs out.
UK, Australia, Canada and most of Europe have a "Think before fire" esque training program.
They are trained to think, then kill.
America is just ask the man on the radio a question whilst giving him a vague description of what you can see from 2 miles in the sky on your little monitor and when he says yes kill 12 people.
Not that I'm saying America doesn't have good soldiers, of coarse it does, it just encourages the majority of it's forces to be blundering blood thirsty brutes.

Well then I guess you answered your own question. That's why we don't give them the respect you seem to think we should.

What?
FP has this huge raving hard on for military men and woman serving in the army, this mass patriotism for it anyway, you should see the threads. This video is a prime example of what I like, it is showing reality to the brain dead here of how war and a lot of soldiers behave like. Around here people spread a load of makeup of reality of what a soldier really is, they see them as moral, angels from heaven. When in reality they're just like me and you or that asshole down the street who was a bit of a sadist, trained to use a gun.
As I've always said - I don't respect soldiers. I don't mind what they do but that does not mean I give them instant respect, it also does that mean I hate or like them.

so because they're not right up in their face they're cowards? I guess all the non combatant personal are cowards because they don't fight.

the foot soldier wasn't the one who shot them anyways. you have absoulutley no idea how far away the apache gunner is to the target. he could of been 4500 feet away, and you expect him to identify everything with a low quality camera?

the footmen were sent to check out the situation, they're the reason they found the girl and that she got aid. without them she would of bled out.
i'm curious on what you would of done in that situation.

Oh I misinterpreted your perspective a bit, my bad. And for the record, the only time I thought all soldiers where honorable men that where more brave then I ever could be was when I was like 10 and saw a portrait of my grandpal in a uniform. Then I learned there's at least two sides to everything.
Be happy you're alive, can't you somehow drill that into your intensely dense skull?
What are you even doing? Trying to shut me up by saying "just be happy you're alive"? What kind of backwards logic is that... in fact how is it even relevant. I don't want to see member's of our nation's military gunning down innocent people for sport, it gives me an unnerving feeling like there's this uncontrolled power these people have over other people's lives. I can see you don't understand that concern though.
Besides, you have to have an opinion. You can't walk around life saying "well its not me, so I don't care". That's simpleton logic, because if we lived in a world where everyone thought like that, we'd still be in caves fending for ourselves instead of unleashing the power of combined human effort.

"God damn it Kyle, hahaha"
These guys really don't take their job seriously, do they?
I mean, it literally sounds like I'm listening to some teens on xbox live playing Modern Warfare.
I can't wait till DICE makes battlefield this realistic
If you literally hated someone and were given a gun, would you not shoot them?
Okay troll, go back to OIFY and take bobste with you. You're both fucked up kids.
To answer your question in the rare case you wanted an actual answer: Yes, but it takes a lot for me to actually hate someone, they'd have to do some pretty wrong shit. I'd shoot them in the foot or arm depending on what they did. If they murdered one of my family, I'd kill them. If I spotted them from the air carrying what seemed to be a black object with a strap, no, I would not shoot them or the 10 people that happened to be around them at the time.
