For CO on Steam do I have to install Arma 2 and then OA or can I just download and install both at the same time?
Also I'll be playing on the 23rd. I might be a little late depending on what time we start at though because I have to work that day.

I know not to use a bolt action rifle when all your enemies have semi auto and full auto guns.

If you have CO retail then it will work fine with us. If you have just ArmA 2 retail, or ArmA 2: OA retail and intend to buy the other to get CO on Steam, then you have a problem. If the latter then I suggest you look around on the Bohemia Interactive Forums, or have someone get a link to the thread that talks about the various fixes to get CO running.

Granted, if you can get within 300-400 meters of your target. It's useless beyond that range.

Wowww, you must be bad at it. It's firing the 7.62x51 cartridge, it outranges most of the other rifles.
The FAL is the only gun I can effectively use at >400m using only irons
Only issue with the FAL is the amount of recoil it has, but it just makes it more fun
