God fuck MGS2 is hard. Forever barely not bleeding, no rations, no ammo, and 90% of the time caution in all zones because I'll fidget behind a piece of cover and someone 20 feet away will hear me, yet I can do a cartwheel 5 feet behind a guy and have him not give a fuck.

Yeah fuck I can't even play this. Top down worked in the first game, doesn't feel so great here. The random patrols that go everywhere on random vertical levels with cover that doesn't seem to work half the time and enemies hearing me miles away makes this unplayable. Doesn't help that enemies randomly come through doors from other areas, and look down stairs that I can't look up.

Re-playing FF8, SeeD just got ordered to do some wet work on Sorceress Edea.
Despite being an RPG involving magic and shit, you really can boil the plot down to a tacticool CoD/Tom Clancy style storyline. You have a student at a military academy called a Garden where he is inducted as a SeeD following an exam that's actually a military operation and not a simulation or a wargame. SeeD is essentially a private military company hired out for work ranging from large scale military operations, to smaller black ops and subterfuge. After his induction, the main character is dispatched with a team to a town called Timber that is currently under military rule by the Galbadian Army, and there they are ordered to assist a local resistance cell in capturing the Galbadian President in a ruse involving a fake train car and a moving train. The operation goes south after the president turns out to be a decoy and the team has to go into hiding in the town. After another incident where a rogue Garden student takes the real Galbadian President hostage, the team is essentially trapped in Galbadian territory and have to report to the Galbadian Garden as per protocol. There they are ordered to assassinate a Galbadian Ambassador as part of a joint operation between both their home Garden and Galbadia Garden with the help of a Galbadia Garden Sharpshooter.
That's most of what happens in disc one.

I'd like to share a experiance i had a loooooooooong time ago, back in '06 i think. So, this was back when i belonged to a kickin' rad karate thing where every friday we had bitching nerf battles, where we took the practice plates and stack them to make a fort and shit, but i digress. We also played vidya all the time, mostly Halo 2, but sometimes we played Halo 1 and SW: BF 2. Well, this memory is hazy, and slightly understanding what game it was now, confuses me even more. So, a guy appeared to be playing Halo 2 Campaign, when the chief gets knocked out, when what i know now as Alyx looks over and repeats her famous first lines. But then we proceed to wake up and you're still the chief, and your in a courtyard, and there are marines around, one of which we take a battle rifle from. The fuck? The H2 Campaign is nothing like that, and neither is HL2. That and he was playing on a original XBawks. And i distinctly remember those details, and i have a damn good memory. I'm so confused.
