Why is it that I can't get past the firing range portion of boot camp in Arma 2? It seems to bug out and act like I failed everytime.

i wouldn't even bother with the singleplayer missions to be honest, I haven't even finished any of the campaigns.

Also do you guys play with PMC and BAF? I only have PMC but i have BAF light.

We usually just roll in the PMC SUV's, but once in a while with the BAF GMG's, or with the british troops. But you don't [I]need[/I] the full versions, the lite editions work just fine.
