Why does it seem so hard to level up in BF2? I only have a little fraction of anything on my progress bar even though I have like 50-75 kills.

it was entirely black for me too, only thing that illuminated anything was the moon and i thought it was awesome
for me it was like what foos had:
same lighting during zombie portion, after that, the time went as normal and by the time the ambush started it was full on night

Goddamnit JA2, why u do this to me. Got guns as good as I can get thus far, M1 Carbines, a Winchester .44 lever action, and an SL8, yet the 15-ish enemies in every goddamn sector vs my 4.5 (Ira sucks) just spam bullets in every direction and overwhelm me every goddamn battle. I feel like I've worked out what primarily [I]doesn't[/I] work, but I still don't understand what I'm doing wrong.

Green where mine are, yellow where the killzone is. Worked for a little bit until it took 2-3 turns to kill a single enemy while my armor piercing .300 car rounds only managed to do about 10-15 each, suppression was impossible to accomplish (dat mob of guys circlejerking), and they just kept moving up as I slowly ran lower and lower on ammo.
