Anybody know how he gets the money for his equipment? He must have some source of income besides the adventurer club shirts.
My guess is YouTube ad revenue, projects for other people, and his wife/girlfriend, seeing as he has a daughter.
My guess is YouTube ad revenue, projects for other people, and his wife/girlfriend, seeing as he has a daughter.
I've watched another video and it shows that he loves them, but why doesn't he live with them/them with he?
Awesomest... guy... ever..;
I've watched another video and it shows that he loves them, but why doesn't he live with them/them with he?
Probably because he's still building the house. He said he doesn't want his daughter in the house while he's working on it because she's still a baby.
Anybody else think a man of this magnitude belongs in general discussion?
I know a couple people in the Blacksmithing community who act kinda like this guy. Its really funny to be forging next to them for 6 hours.
I really hope the thing works in the end after spending all that time on it.
if there was a show for the top 100 certified badasses, I know this guy will be somewhere in the top 20's.
Saxton Hales nerdier cousin.
I wish I could escape from society like that :(
This guy should be the new definition of "Man". So in wikipedia and stuff like that it'll be all like "Man - like that Jaimie guy."
He reminds me of my dad. Although we don't live in the woods, he can build just about anything. Like for example, when we visited a friend who actually WAS living in the french outback, power from solar and wind energy, water from rain, house built himself and all that, he had this broken down car where the rear dampers were smashed. So my dad went into his friends crude workshop full of rusty metal tools and just built new dampers out of scrap parts. Because he was bored. He does stuff like that all the time. We even built our house ourselves. He makes a living off his unique engeneering skills, working on big commercial projects, where noone knows anything about manual engeneering and he just goes around building and fixing machinery. He is an awesome person, but I always feel like I will never acomplish anything quite like he did. You know, how you always compete with your parents as you make your career... but this just kind of rises the stakes. Im an adult now, looking for something to make a living off, but I am far from the genius engeneer.
I was really amazed by that road he made.
I thought this was some kind of joke or satire at first.
My new hero. This dude needs his own tv-show!
My new hero. This dude needs his own tv-show!
I'd watch it, someone call Discovery...
Saxton Hales nerdier cousin.
It's the engineer!
First off - this is really inspiring, this guy is amazing at what he does! My dad is very creative, and can build almost anything. I helped my dad build our house every step of the way. We aren't as hard core as that guy, but if he can do that, anyone can.
Myth Busters + Saxton Hale = This guy right here.
I wish things were that simple. Need to move quickly from your base in the forest and the external world? build a road. Need a place to work on your giant spider? set up a workshop with wood and anything you can find next to you. Need gears to turn the head of your giant spider? make one out of plastic. He almost makes it look easy.
This guy is a real life mad scientist. Hes the cool kind of crazy.
This guy is awesome.
This man is a tree destroyer.
I just watched whole bunch of them. This guy is awesome. If he wants something, he just makes it. He needs a lumber mill, so he makes it. He wants a storage dome, he makes it. He wants a workshop, he makes it. He wants a table, he god damn makes it. This guy has made and done so much in the name of this Spider Robot, I hope it's worth it in the end.
Is there a place to donate?
This guy is a genius.
this guy is fucking amazing. seriously, this is the most incredible and inspiring man i've ever seen. if wants something, he just fucking makes it. he is the most purest, and concentrated form of man on this planet. someone should move this to general discussion. he doesn't deserve to get this little attention.
Get this man a grant
He's kinda lonely sometimes, too...
Saturday, August 06, 2005 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAA(pulling out hair)AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OK. now that thats all ou.... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! aww... feuf. I think thats i... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OK. enough. Holey crap, man. I am just on the wrong planet. inhale..... exhale..... I want a hug. ...a big hug. I want to snuggle all night, and just have someone there to press against my cold heart. I want a big jug of warm liquid goo poured into my chest, and I don't want to pay for it.... not now, and not later. I want my returned hug to be enough. Is that really such a difficult thing? Monday, August 01, 2005 hoooley crap. Ok, in a nutshell... I'm horny. Of course, in this state of hormonal and spiritual hysteria, there's pretty much no way I'll be able to formulate a decent conversation even if I AM facing a girl that I'd want to... you know. See? I can't even make a coherent sentence. damn. Jaimie needs a girl. ...or a huge beating.
His life isn't easy, but he still has incredible amounts of freedom...
