Depends how sick you are, if it's nothing big, working out can actually help you out to fight against it. If you're feeling like absolute shit though, it's better to just skip the work out for that day until you're feeling better.
I seriously can't believe this. Sick. As Fuark.
It's not bad for me to train when I'm unwell? It's just a shit flu.
You really should not workout when you are sick. Your immune system will weaken if you do any strenuous activity, better to just rest up and get well otherwise you'll just feel worse and your workout won't be all that great either.
I'm probably nowhere near as sick as i think I am. Might give a run a go and see how I feel.
Went for a run up a mountain!
Was fucking pretty.
It's got a track and such that's 700m and I did it in 23minutes with 2 rest stops. I thought my heart was going to explode.
Back home now and still feel sick but mentally feeling great, accomplished and pleased with myself.
Also. Holy fuck I need to sell my manual and buy an auto. I'm going to fucking crash when leg day comes around I know it! :(
Keep the manual!
My take on working out when sick: A bad workout is better than no workout.
I make every effort to get my ass in there in lift. Even if I don't manage to complete all my sets or even all my exercises, it's better than if I didn't lift at all.
Just to add on. In Australia it costs like $80 for a standard tub of protein and $100 for creatine. So I think spending $400 on double that and a lot more was a good buy.
I live in Australia and while you're right about the protein, you're paying about about 400% more for your creatine, and I don't even use it.

It's a good saying.
But when you are sick you really just need to rest bro.
fat burning I assume.
For?
All he does is waste calories when he doesn't even need to burn anything. I treat it as a way to get the calories down.
I'm doing cardio because I'm unfit. Just because I'm skinny doesn't mean I have any aerobic endurance whatsoever and as I said I want to join the military in around 6 months. So I've gotta be fit as fuck.
I know it slow my size gains a bit but I'm not worried. As long as my body handles the entry and handles training then it's good enough for me. After that I'll be focusing on size and looks and such.
fair enough

Guys don't hate on his cardio, it's good for the heart. Keeping it balanced is good and definitely something I should work harder towards.

The gym I signed up to gave me a free PT session. The dude seems cool and is ex-military so apparently he knows his shit for exactly what I wanna do. Was worried about the gym a bunch today but after chatting to him I'm really keen for it.
U have a crush
Don't u

Hey, that's not a bad reason to want to work out. If there's a girl he wants and he's doing something about it, it means he has initiative and may find a way to make it happen instead of pouting. I'm fully behind him wanting to work out for that reason.
I think he might be making a joke about him having a crush on his trainer :v:
Love thy Trainer
I have a MASSIVE fear of the gym for some reason,I think it's just the fact that my max bench is like 50kg atm and I'm gonna be around buff dudes.
No worry dude. I'm somewhat chubby and very unmuscular, I was a bit worried about this too the first time I went to a gym. However I have not really felt any hostility when I went there at all, most people are pretty helpful, and I honestly think a lot of people just care about making their own bodies look better rather than caring what the people around them look like.
Furthermore I once heard a statement about this that I think probably applies to a lot of people on the gym: "When I see some really huge fat person in the gym huffing on treadmills and sweating their asses off, I don't think of them as repulsive and that they don't belong here among all the fit people, I just admire that they're giving their all to try and better themselves."
[editline]16th July 2013[/editline]
Either way you already look tons better than I ever did
Thanks for the advice :)
I went in today to meet my trainer and have a chat and we pretty much just talked. He really knows his shit about what it takes for people to enter and is generally a cool guy.
I also saw people who I went to school with about 6 years ago in there and even though I was kind of worried when I noticed them, we just said "How ya going?" then went about our own shit. I even picked up on some stuff they were doing (what I'm pretty sure was) wrong.
Those 2 things have pretty much eliminated my fear of it. I know that I'm a newbie. They know I'm a newbie. So what the fuck do I have to hide?
My trainer is giving me a free hour tomorrow to test exactly where I am and develop a program that suits me, although he hadn't seen stronglifts before he said it was a really good start but I guess I'll find out tomorrow what the go is.
Will post back in here afterwards!
The people who get the evil eye and whatnot in the gym aren't the fatties or out of shape people trying to do their thing. It's the big guys who people stare at and crack jokes about. I've never seen someone point at a fatass and go, "Hahaha look at that fatass on the treadmill," but I've seen a million people point to bigger guys (including myself) and go, "Hahaha, that guy is probably compensating for a small penis, hahaha he's so big but I lift more than him hahahaha."
Obviously it's done out of insecurity, so no dude is gonna give a shit what the plebs are saying. But still, you have nothing to worry about, you won't see any kind of hatred until/unless you start looking really good.
