By the way, are there generals that actually charged to the frontlines?
I don't know about WWII, but during WWI there was Cadorna (an Italian general) that usually climbed on top of the trenches with his binocular to take a look (yes, he stood on top of the trenches, even though there were loads of enemy snipers). It was also he who had people dress up in medieval heavy armours and advance on MG positions. And made loads of suicidal charges on the enemy (usually ending in disaster). He wasn't really right in the head.
destroyed
haha
2,530 combat missions / destroyed almost 2,000 => shitty ratio if you ask me. Not even a vehicule destroyed per mission.
Plus its the stuka. The only way to make sure you bomb a tank is to dive bomb, and the g-force acting on you is extreme.
Plus he ran away from soviet hunting parties, swam across an ice-cold river where he lost his rear gunner, whom was a kings cross holder, got capture by an hunting party. Made a run for it from enemy k9, then reached safety. He also got shot in the leg by a 20mm cannon round and after that he found with one leg and destroyed 23 tanks. He is the only one to hold kings cross with golden oak leaves, swords and diamons, the highest decoration possbile in German army.
OMG, that guy is a pro in escaping.
Basically all Victoria's cross/Medal of Honor winners are rambo's.
I won like three or four Medal of Honor's on the psx/ps2/pc, but I don't consider myself a Rambo :(
Alvin York This man single-handedly took out a machine gun nest of 30 machine gunners. Fucking. Badass.
This article glorifies him too much.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Churchill Motherfucker landed on D-Day with a sword and bow & arrows

"If it wasn't for those damn Yanks, we could have kept the war going another 10 years!"
i found that hillarious.
