Ever since my mom got me a dermatologist, my skin got cleared up so well. Of course there's the occasional spot but it isn't as rampant as before. I recommend going to see a dermatologist if you can.

In year 8 i was an unclean child who didn't see the importance of having a shower every day, this, combined with having a greasy face left me with many breakouts, this made me increasingly more self consious about my appearance untill i decided to let my hair grow out so i would eventually cover all the spots that people would notice, over the course of the next 4 months i had grown chin height hair and still only washed every other day, so i was one of those kids that had greasy, long hair, which as you can imagine did not help my skin problems. Now my hair is shoulder length and is styled to sweep over my forehead and i make sure i wash it around 2-3 times a day, i don't get that many spots anymore, just the odd 3 that i get on my cheeks, but sadly there's a whole bunch of black heads that i can't seem to get rid of, so i've tried to keep my hair off my face (With Headbands, Hairbands, Bobbypins etc.) which has only seemed to help get rid of the spots, i also use face scrub/wash that "Clean out pores and destorys black-heads" but i've only been using it for the past weeks so i can't currently see any visible results. If anyone can tell me any ways to get rid of/prevent black-heads that actually works then that'd be great. Also, my friend told me that going out in the sun helps to get rid of spots, is it true?
Blackheads are fucking easy, just make sure you have some amount of fingernail and then, using the top of the fingernail on the index finger of each hand, point them down at a 45 degree angle on opposite sides of the target blackhead area and slowly slide them together, pinching only the very surface of the skin in the process. The embedded dirt and oil that forms blackheads will jump right out of the pores and end up on the top of your fingernail, which can then be wiped into a tissue or toilet paper. Push them together harder for a stronger pinch (although it may cause some pain) to get more stubborn ones if you want, but otherwise this is painless, quick, and leaves nothing behind.
Anyone try Clindoxyl gel? My doctor gave me this without even asking, I go to see her and the just looks at my face and says "I'll give you something for your acne". I never gave a crap about acne on my face until now...
Blackhead stuff.
I tend to squeeze out my blackheads similar to how you describe and then apply something to clear my pores out. I find it works great with my nose as it seems to be keeping them from returning so often, I don't get huge blackheads on my nose anymore.
I have really deep blackheads on my nose, they're basically impossible to completely get rid of and they're usually back within a day or two. Had them basically since I was like 14-15 I guess, i'm 21 now and I still have them :(
I've recently started using this stuff every morning and evening and it's been working wonders for me. And this every morning: As everyone else said it's important to keep your hands and your face clean and stop picking that shit, it's been improving ever since I've actively started thinking about this.
I got a prescription of Zineryt a few months ago, so far its been working wonders (although I've got a load of scars and redness from my picking habits) :(
I tried everything under the sun, went to a dermatologist about 6 times a year to see my progress on various anti-biotics, I got really depressed being one of the first in school to get spots let alone having it this god damn bad, I was told as I matured quicker than most that I would grow out of it. I didn't. 4 years of shitty antibiotics later in August 2010 I was prescribed Roaccutane after the doctor saying "You have severe acne" No Fucking Shit. Me before, tagged as it's hideous. Seriously: It got a worse than this but this demonstrates the quantity fairly well I had this all over my back and chest, it even spread down my shoulders to my elbows. Me today (1.5 years after the course ended): http://img607.imageshack.us/img607/9217/cam0212.jpg Cleared up entirely after 5 months and by the 6th month my skin was clear. I then had to wait a couple of months for the side effects to stop drying my skin out and it was great. (Yeah I have facial hair but my girlfriend likes it, this isn't Fix up look sharp so deal with it) Side effects of Roaccutane were so worth it, had to carry around a pot of lipsil to stop my lips tearing apart every time I opened my mouth and had to apply moisturiser over my face and arms daily in fear of all the skin just peeling off like I had insane sun burn. Also made my depression worse as I was told it would but my willingness to get through it was all I needed, apparently 9 people had killed themselves the year before whilst on the medication so at least I wasn't that bad. I'd just sit in my room and not talk to anyone for days, avoid all contact with people I knew at college and cry for no reason. Pretty shit but I'm glad I did it. Highly recommendatory. If you don't believe the psychological effects will happen it will effect you much less, it's a bit like a placebo in that sense. It's a 6 month course and it has a 70% chance of it permanently balancing what causes them (Which it did for me ) So yeah, bit of confidence boosting for those who have it bad and more so for those who have 2 spots and call it acne.
This works too. Comes in 2.5%, 5%, 10% cocentrations
I had pretty bad acne since I was about 13 (I'm 18 now, so I had 5 years with the crap). I tried absolutely everything, prescription stuff, over the counter, everything. Anyway I finally got put on Roaccutane about 5 months ago and within 8 weeks it had cleared up, it was brilliant. However I've been off it for a few months now and my acne is coming back. I would go back on Roaccutane however I didn't respond that well to it, I didn't have any super serious side effects like suicidal depression but I'll just say that I don't really want to go through it again. Luckily I've recently been trying some simple Benzol Peroxide based cream (10%) and my face already looks much clearer, so I seem to be responding to that now. To anyone considering (Ro)accutane, I would definitely give it a go. The side effects are really over exaggerated, and even the dry skin thing isn't that bad, just use loads of moisturiser and you'll be fine. I'll say one thing though, (and I'm not bothered about saying this as no-one knows me on here), it really, really affected my sex drive and my ability to 'get it up'. Oddly it's one of the few things that isn't mentioned as a side effect, but look around on the internet and you'll see it does happen. I wouldn't let that put you off though, I think that reaction is very rare and I'm (slowly) getting back to normal now so it does seems temporary. But it definitely does the trick when nothing else works.
As most users have posted, Benzoyl Peroxide works wonders. I use this.
I had pretty bad acne as well, tried just about every trick that I found/people told me and tried a LOT of products, nothing worked. Went to a dermatologist, got a prescription of Isotetrinoin (you do need to take a blood test though), acne was gone in 2-3 weeks. I only recommend doing that if nothing else works, since those pills have some nasty side effects (dry skin, lips, very sensitive to exposure to sun,...) Still, it was totally worth it.
Apply this all over morning and night, start on 5% and work your way up to 10%. It's likely to get worse over the first few months of using it but after a while you'll have great skin Wash face with his every night, and immediately after: also don't forget to moisturize, moisturizing is incredibly important. e45 lotion is usually the best
Take fish oil pills, they help with the redness. Also take antibiotics and drink lots of water.
I started getting fairly bad Acne at around age 15, but it never got really awful. However during my time with my Acne I learned that washing your face in warm water with shampoo actually helped out a lot. It would make it flair down a bit and just generally make your face feel more fresh. Another thing is straight up cutting out soda from your diet. It'll be tough in the beginning, but it will help immensely with acne and zits. If you have a hard time quitting soda, I suggest having water around in either a bottle or glass. Tea is also pretty good.
I don't get it, why do nerd apparently have acne? I'm a loser and have never had acne, only a few spots here and there, I don't see the connection.
I have no idea what's wrong with my skin, it always gets really greasy and then when i sleep and wake up some times i get these huge zits that are really hard and take a month or two to go away. I wash my face two times a day, once in the morning and once before i go to bed, then put some of that proactive stuff on it and sleep. I also have huge zits on my back that get really sore.
Treatment that was prescribed has no effect on my face. Guess it's time for Accutane.
Anyone else ever get an allergic reaction to whatever you're using? It's happened to me 3 times.
I don't get it, why do nerd apparently have acne? I'm a loser and have never had acne, only a few spots here and there, I don't see the connection.
There isn't any. "Nerds" just tend to have no hygiene and that can lead up to the start.
Are you off of it currently? Any flare ups since you have been off it if so? How is it compared to Accutane?
No flare up so far, it has been working pretty good. And no idea, the doctor we went to for this just gave me oratane because he said all his patients have came back with great results
