Is it just me, or did anyone else think it seemed kind of fuzzy and sketchy? Maybe it's cause I don't have my glasses on. Who knows.
That was fucking impressive
:saddowns: I want that
He would make so much money if he commercialized this! it's incredible!
1:11 It the checklist, the second bar is labeled "Aperture independent."
ap·er·ture (pr-chr) n. 1. An opening, such as a hole, gap, or slit. 2. a. A usually adjustable opening in an optical instrument, such as a camera or telescope, that limits the amount of light passing through a lens or onto a mirror. b. The diameter of such an opening, often expressed as an f-number. c. The diameter of the objective of a telescope.
Has to be one of the best looking game engines I've seen in a while. I wonder what the minimum specs are though. While he is probably a very smart person and I give him credit, the technologies he's using likely already exist and he's finally applying them to a high end game engine. I wonder how the engine structure is too, I'd assume he built it well based on the visuals but you can never be sure until you try it.
You obviously don't know how to read.
I didn't look at the god damn credits because I didn't have time, asshat.
OH MY GOD THAT IS EPIC. Then you compare to something like source and then it is godly.
I didn't look at the god damn credits because I didn't have time, asshat.
The question you'd asked had already been answered 2 posts above your post. That's why you can't read.
A game must be made with that.... NOW.
Well it's a rendering engine that runs so fast it is viable for use for games. I bet this doesn't show off its true power though. The video lacks AA and high resolution textures for the most part, but for a rendering engine made by one guy that trumps competing engines made by teams. This is sick. Also reminds me of that one game that was like medieval and had sick graphics. The video was like 2 battles in an alcove in a castle while a massive battle raged outside. The project was later picked up by intel and hasn't been heard of.

The difference with unreal 3 etc is that if you want a game to play, you can't afford to spend the whole frame time on rendering.
Fucking awesome
Music was too much for the video

Is it a game engine though? I didn't see anything like level editors or even gameplay.
It's Quantumas Graphics Engine - only graphics as made obvious by the name. [editline]04:56PM[/editline] Although he posted it on game development website, so I'm guessing he wants to make a game engine from it.
Hrm. If he did do this it's an ungodly amazing feat. Not to sound skeptical though, but I'm not believing this runs that well until he releases a tech demo to the public.
Is it a game engine though? I didn't see anything like level editors or even gameplay.
It's a realtime rendering engine, like ogre.
