What would you do if America turned into a Communist Country

I would pray for the Second Coming of Glenn Beck.
Whats does that say?
Roughly
"The entire Party, army and people, determined to successfully implement the will of President Ho Chi Minh City, build a peaceful, unified, independent, democratic and prosperous developing internal resources, doan ket, savings, sales, creative city building ho chi minh prosperous, civilized, modern, firmly upward social life and customs"
Socialism is the way my children!
Since communism works so wonderfully in theory, but absolutely blows in reality, we should create a government that, in theory, would be absolutely fucking terrible so that in reality, it would be the greatest political system in the history of the human race.
This movie is so fucking terrible.
I think you just hate freedom.
If it did, you wouldn't likely be allowed to leave.
Where in the manifesto does it say that?
Build an air-borne, xenophobic paradise based on 1920's America.
I would move to barbados :frog:
If it was actually Communist then I would be happy.
I find this doubtful.
Communism will never work because it's too contrary to human nature. A basic study of economics should essentially crush any argument for it.
Communism wouldn't be such a bad idea if Americans weren't so fuckin greedy.
As if Americans don't have the same type of base nature as yourself.
But then again, I'm not gonna perform heart surgeries on your ass for the same wage that some one collects trash.
And this is exactly why nobody will want to go into the medical field when health care is "free."
The government pays them peanut wages, you get Taco Bell quality (and, of course, outsourced workers).
It's been a communist government since January 20, 2009.
i dont love it because they do it wrong but i dont hate it and as long as it was still a republic i would call it an improvement

What would you do if OP turned intelligent?
Wtf are you guys talking about? If America was truly communist and not the corrupted to shit version, and I mean exactly as the theory of it is, then that would be the most incredible thing that has happened in human history, no?
$10 says OP doesn't know what Communism is.
Communism doesn't work because Capitalists make sure it doesn't.
The only reason it doesn't work is because of the morale factor. Why should I, a neurosurgeon, be payed the same as a street cleaner. I'll just go be a street cleaner and get payed the exact same amount.
But now we have no neurosurgeons, or doctors, or lawyers.

You're fictionalizing it. It will never happen EXACTLY AS THE THEORY IS. It cannot, purely because we are human.
Overthrow the government and reinstate the Constitution. It would be easy because nobody with any power supports communism.
Also, I love how people say that "Communism is a perfect system on paper, but people ruin it and it doesn't work in practice." Well, if it's been attempted and every single time it's failed miserably due to Human nature, then I think the plan seems pretty flawed.
It's like saying "Colonizing Mercury is a great plan but it doesn't work in practice because we can't breath methane but oh well it still works on paper."
Vietnam isn't Communist. No country has ever existed that is Communist. Just because they call themselves it doesn't mean they are (NK calls itself a "Socialist, workers paradise). AFAIK the closest a country has gotten to Communism is a country in Asia called Laos.
Why so many Communist Threads in the recent weeks?
Communism is pretty neat, ON PAPER, but it would never work, because the leaders would be corruped asshats with a god complex. Just think back to Stalin, or hell, Kim Jong-Ill. Not to talk, that when Lenin died, Stalin shat all over the whole concept of communism.
This song fits the thread and also explains it a bit more .

Truly the only way this would work is if everyone was communist and we had near limitless resources.
But also, even without that, it seems better than the economy we're in now. In a way, it would sort of act as a "reset button". But, my logic is probably sounding quite dumb since I'm just making this up on the spot.
Edit: And as for corruption, that was all Stalin's fault.

mac raises a good point and the people of communism dont really care what job they have as long as they are helping
Human nature prevents it from working properly. If one human performs more activities than another human and both get the same exact reward, the human who performed more will want more.
Humans are greedy by nature, and Communism can't work with this fact. I believe that OP is referring to SOCIALISM, which is NOT the same thing.
Our true enemy is instinct. Instinct was our mother when we were an infant species. Instinct cuddled us and kept us safe in those hardscrabble years when we hardened our sticks and cooked our first meals above a meager fire and started at the shadows that leapt upon the cavern's walls. But inseparable from Instinct is its dark twin, Superstition. Instinct is inextricably bound to unreasoning impulses, and today we clearly see its true nature. Instinct has just become aware of its irrelevance, and like a cornered beast, it will not go down without a bloody fight. Instinct would inflict a fatal injury on our species. Instinct creates its own oppressors, and bids us rise up against them. Instinct tells us that the unknown is a threat, rather than an opportunity. Instinct slyly and covertly compels us away from change and progress. Instinct, therefore, must be expunged.

Maybe it would work, if you could raise a brainwashed civilization. who knows.

Why would it be brainwashed? Every civilization is brainwashed in it's own way. If you consider something which goes against the current social establishment 'brainwashed' then the answer is yes.
You could also say that the number of murder and wars has dramatically decreased in the past centuries because people became more brainwashed. (Wars are caused by the human nature, aren't they) :downs:
