ITT :crying: WAAAH I PLAY THE REAL GUITAR IM COOL PAY ATTENTION TO ME!
You're one of THEM aren't you!? Wanting to have fun without the hassle of buying instruments shame on you!
My friend is the biggest one of these. The first Strokes song I heard was Reptillia on Guitar Hero. I liked it, did some research, and bought Is This It, my friends however buys the song on iTunes and says he's a fan of the Strokes because he's only listened to that one song.
I hate how people play rock band and gaytar queero instead of playing real instruments. I've flipped out at my brother and a friend so many times that I've convinced them to stick to playing real guitar (because they do play, but they started to get side tracked with these stupid games) and stop wasting time playing rock band/gaytar queero.
you are so clever tell me how you make things up with gaytar queero oh please tell me oh edgy god of wisdom
I agree with you so much, i do play rock band quite a bit but it hardly ever influences the music i listen to.
What pisses me off the most is that before Through the fire and flames by shitforce, sorry i meant dragonforce was'nt well known now it is probaly one of the most milked songs of all time, the same with dream theater on rockband because people think there are good at panic attack and constant motion they think they know everything about them.
in my opinion those types of people can go suck a cyanide pill

I hate how people play GTA4 instead of going outside and shooting a bunch of people in real life.
Having fun is dumb, everybody who plays Rock Band should play in a real band even if they don't want too.
/sarcasm

I hope that was sarcasm
:downs:
Discuss. Why put that in the OP you dumass what else would we do?
A thread about rockband is not always about how the plastic instruments suck, so please try to comprehend more.
If you don't like those people just don't talk to them or make a 5 second conversation if they talk to you and then leave
Totally agree with you OP. Happens on guitar hero too. Dead Kennedys for example. People will be like "OMG guise! you herd dat new song holiday in cambodia? IM SO PUNK RAWK NOW GUISE!" i fucking rage.
First off, sorry if the title is misleading.
Has anyone noticed that when someone is going through your MP3 and they see a song from Rock Band, they say "Hey! You stole this song from rock band right?" What the fuck do you mean I stole this song from rock band. Didn't you notice the entire discography of the band that I've been listening to for years yet?
"Oh my god this band is so fucking great I love them! I'm such a hardcore metal fan now!" Alright, let's pretend they're talking about Children of Bodom. Name a song other than the song they know. Name an entire fucking album if you have to. "Hatebreeder." This will result in a clueless look and a stupid fucking response consisting of "I don't like them that much though."
If you play rock band and don't do any of the above and actually know the songs and the band and whatnot, this isn't towards you. (obviously enough)
Discuss.
Yeah people like this are god damn retarded. However, you should realize that people that ask the questions that annoy you are usually checking to make sure you aren't an idiot like the person you talk about in your second paragraph. Just say "No, I have all of their songs and I've been listening to them for a long time" to the people that ask that and don't worry about it. The people that you talk about in the second paragraph are the real issue.
let them have fun you anti-social idiots

did you read thread
I've never heard this happen ever to me. Although Rock Band has certainly expanded my musical tastes, that's why I love the game so much.
I do have several songs from Rock Band on my playlist (Black Hole Sun, Paranoid). However, I don't even say I'm a fan. They're good songs. I'd probably like their other songs. I just haven't listened to anything else.
I like Rock Band. I'm not very good at it, but it's FUN. It's a GAME. A GAME.
You know who really pisses me off?
Elitist fucktards who can't stand people playing Guitar Hero or Rock Band because they can actually play guitar, and think that the people playing video games automatically think they can rock for real.
Most people realize this simple fact: IT'S A GAME. Sure, there's some people who think that, because they can five-star "Through the Fire and Flames", they can automatically play guitar. There are also people who think they are animals, and people who think the Earth is flat, or that JFK did 9/11. Most people are rational.
Harmonix games (Neversoft has no musical talent, and it shows) generally give you some skills that you can use at guitar. Rhythm, for instance. Many of the players (who also play guitar for real) say that it gives you a better rhythm. A more precise tempo. A more consistent beat. That's a musical skill.
It doesn't train you on where to put your fingers for each note. It trains finger reaction time, and maybe dexterity, but it doesn't train your muscle memory. It doesn't help with strumming.
Here's an analogy. If you played shooters obsessively, would you think you were good at shooting? No. Of course not. You might have a grasp of fundamental tactics (might being a major word there), but probably the accuracy of a three-year-old. A really drunk three-year-old. You probably couldn't find the safety latch, let alone clear a jam or actually hit something. Do soldiers or mercenaries or other people who regularly shoot people bitch about it?
Quit bitching about it. Sure, some kid says he can rock on GH, so a guitar should be easy, feel free to kick his ass for me. Not because he's "destroying your music" or anything. Because he's a dumbass.

k hold on
I thought you were going to say that they say they can play real instruments :v: Which I can play the drums. Rock Band and Real.
I hate when I'm listening to some good Wagner, and then some ignorant asshole comes up to me and says "Hey this is the Flying Dutchman isn't it?" and I'm like, no you god damn idiot its Der Fliegende Holländer!
God I hate those people.
o ya, they're still just wanting to have fun, the important thing is that they tried
ITT: People trolling guitar hero and rock band players. I learned about some metal bands i've never heard of from Guitar Hero and bought some of their CDs.
o ya, and the OP is practically saying that pretty much all rock band players are like this
:/

I can't sing I am the Walrus with Audiosurf.
I play Expert Drums but I never brag. Mostly because I can play the REAL drum set and if people need to see me prove it I can prove it.
Also, I liked Weezer before Rock Band. Then someone went on my computer and went "OMFG LOL YOU GOT THIS FROM ROCK BAND" and it makes me facepalm
