It doesn't increase wealth but if more people share the costs, more money will be left over. If 5 people live together, they might share a fridge. If they lived on their own, they would all need to buy their own fridge and so on.
Unless you buy yourself a new fridge every week, that's a bit of a non-argument.
===
I'm not throwing my chip in for either side of this discussion here, but I do just want to tackle something here that hasn't been addressed yet. And I think both sides of this argument should consider this.
Assuming that both people work the same exact job for the same exact salary, say $30,000 a year, and they both eat the same amount of food, let's say $80's worth of food a week.
So they get married, combining their incomes to a net $60,000 a year. However, they both need to eat, and so now their food costs go up to $160 a week. No net gain there.
However, there is a net gain in non-consumable resources. Let's assume, like virtually all married couples, they move in together and share an apartment. Let's say that apartment costs $1100 a month in rent.
Now, let's throw in utilities, including water, electricity, and Internet. I am going to use the figures shown for the "average monthly cost" in this article, and then only use 75% of that cost, to give a benefit of the doubt. That comes to about $350 a month.
So now, in total, let's say that an apartment has $1500/mo in living costs. If these two people, single, lived in separate apartments and paid identically for them, then they both paid a net $3000/mo for the apartments, with a net salary of $60,000/yr.
However, since they are now married and living together, they don't have to double-dip the apartment - they both occupy the same space, using the same utilities, and as such, only pay $1500/mo for the apartments with a net salary for $60,000/yr.
That ends up saving them $1500/mo.
Individually, they were paying $1500/mo on $30,000/yr, which left them with $12000/yr to spend on everything else. Together, they are spending $1500/mo on $60,000/yr, which leaves them with $42,000/yr to spend on everything else.
Now, let's factor in the groceries again: Individually, they paid $80/week, which equates to $3840/yr on groceries (assuming 4 weeks per month). With $12,000/yr going to non-apartment, after groceries, that leaves them with, individually, with $8,160/yr to spend on everything else.
Together, they pay $160/week in groceries, equating to $/yr. But with 42,000/yr to spend on non-apartment, after groceries, they are left with $34,320.
===
Keep in mind this is a very simplified model: it is not taking into account different tax rates for the change in net household income, nor is it taking into account any fiscal benefits that the government provides for married couples.
But even still, I think the difference it makes is worth taking into considering, when considering the question of "does being married increase your net wealth?".
I will leave everyone to make their own conclusions.
Did he just tell that dude to kill himself?
Hasn't been the first time, he told that 16 year old to off himself too, was posted a page or 2 back.
he gets that way, this is him berating one of his viewers who is 16 years old like a manchild

Honestly I watched his debate with Jim and I can't say that I'm surprised to see this kind of tripe being posted
fucking amazing of him to assume that artists are in it for the money
what a dip
Did he just tell that dude to kill himself?
Saying that has become a bit of a meme on his stream. If you've watched him for any length of time, you won't think of it as bad as it should sound.
He's still being an idiot, though.
Annnnnnd now Destiny has probably crash and burned abit right there.
Did he just tell that dude to kill himself?
In the naked ape video, he posts a full clip of Destiny talking about how he let his friend know it was ok to commit suicide.

The dude just says straight up stupid shit on the regular
"What the fuck is wrong with you dude? Seriously fucking cut your fucking throat and throw your body out a fucking window so that on the off chance somebody finds you bleeding out and drowning in your own blood they can call an ambulance to save you in time"
Hilarious memes
this destiny guy seems like a huge cock

Destiny is a huge fucking cunt who will snap at the slightest provocation, and his twitter is pure garbage.
If he wasn't really fucking smart and if he didn't cut his bullshit when actually talking to people one on one he would be almost as insufferable as nakedape.
fucking amazing of him to assume that artists are in it for the money

I just want to know where the hell he's getting that $250,000/yr on 900,000 subs number. That's assuming just over 2.3 cents per sub per month. Which is insanely high, seeing as the highest I've seen for adsense is $7.00 per 1,000,000 views, which is 0.0007 cents per view.
To get to that 2.3 cents-per-sub-per-month, he'd need to be getting 3,285 times more views than subs, or 2,956,500,000 views, per month. That's nearly 3 BILLION views, per month, on 900,000 subs.
And I've seen rates as low as $0.60 per million views, which would be a further multiplier of 11.67, or nearly 36 BILLION views on 900,000 subscribers.
Destiny's numbers are absolutely whack. :v:
[editline]Fish[/editline]
Recomputed with $0.60 to $7.00 per thousand views, which is correct:
$0.70 per view. 3.285 more views, 3 million views. 36 million views.

Again, after watching his debate with Jim, this guy is a fucking buffoon with a fanbase.
Nothing I've seen qualifies him as "really" or even just "smart".
He's probably basing it on raw analytics based on gamers uploading a shitload of trash videos every day at 900k subs. He is, of course, failing to take into account that passable animation (especily hand animation) takes around 10 hours of work for 1 second of animation. At most, that's going to be 1-2 videos a year.
EDIT:
Most of it is definitely just pulling shit out of his ass. :v:

No but he's just inept at business tho.
It has nothing to do with the fact that Destiny's works in a completely different field or anything and can pump out content constantly with partnerships with Green Man Gaming and Humble Bundle with as far as im aware there being no equivalent for animation, Zach is just bad at business.
How is that not consistent. Nobody wants to work in a sweatshop (except Intoxicated Spy's grandpa and dad) but it is still an upgrade from what many countries had before that.
Because working in a sweatshop in a third world country is not the same as a vocational job in a first world country. Something so menial doesn't compare to a job with a depth of knowledge/skills you can acquire.
If you are a janitor even, yah you probably have little room for expansion, but someone who works construction can build skills overtime. With those skills a person can become a manager of other workers or apply their trade into their own business and so on.
Also Destiny is such a manchild that he even thinks animators getting fucked over by YouTube Algorithms should drop their passion and go full business mode. Even I know the value these artists bring is not worth sacrificing their passion to game YouTube algorithms.
Destiny reminds me of a sponsored, pampered up Leafyishere, except it's a letsplayer with a huge mouth spouting uninformed garbage and stroking his own ego. He should crash and burn like Leafy, I wouldn't feel bad for these type of people losing their popularity after stroking their dick so much like this.

Under a buck for million views? Where can I buy adspace for so many views?

I'll admit his comment about Youtube revenue is pretty dumb (and I don't really care for Destiny in particular) but that doesn't make Naked Ape's video any less shitty.
Literally everyone involved in this "drama" has proven themselves capable of saying extremely stupid shit.
If you're going to call Destiny a manchild, at least give Ape the same treatment.
Content Cop when.
As much as I would love for a video like that, I don't feel like idubbbz would care much about this, it's a shame because destiny is definitely someone who should be exposed
Under a buck for million views? Where can I buy adspace for so many views?
That's not how much the companies pay. That's how much the YouTubers make.
Destiny has been pulling this shit for nearly a decade lol, his fanbase isn't going anywhere.
You're underestimating idubbbz's ability to care

To be fair, PsychicPebbles is part of that circle that iDubbbz is in and Ian follows him on twitter, im sure he's going to be made aware.
That's not how much the companies pay. That's how much the YouTubers make.
Source? Googling such things returns far higher profits
man, I have such conflicted feelings all the content makers I watch are all fighting with each other but I fucking love drama

Cinnamon Roll Charlie thinks you're a dick, thats how you know you've fucked up.

As a youtuber who has gotten over a million views, less than a dollar per million is undershooting the everloving fuck out of it

Naked apes humor is intentional and he is self aware about it. Destiny is an actual manchild who reacts badly to adversity and doesn't even realize it.
I mean I can say Naked Apes humor (and his voice) is not for everyone. He also isn't my grand example of what I follow, but I do enjoy his content.
Oh, shit, I misread it.
I saw $0.60 - $7.60 CPM, and assumed the M was million. Apparently it's thousand.
Just knock 3 zeroes off everything. It's still obtuse.

Naked Ape is ten times the manchild Destiny has been in the past hour at a minimum. That is his natural state.

I mean it's the difference between 1 dollar and 1 thousand dollars
I mean it's the difference between 1 dollar and 1 thousand dollars
$0.70 per view. 3.285x more views, 3 million views. 36 million views.
Much more achievable, but I still think that's a bit high. Especially for an animator who most likely spends months building single animations that are only a few minutes long.
