So, to sum up events so far: JonTron outs himself as either a deeply misled and naive racist, or a beligerent and unironic racist, then goes dark (so far) after shit explodes in his face. Destiny once refused to intervene in a friend's suicide and lost said friend as a result, and has learned a deep and powerful lesson from this regret, as evidenced by his recent telling people to kill themselves online. Is a massive frivolous twat as a bonus aside this. Sargon of Ass isn't very bright either and is probably an asshole too but admittedly I'm not following it too closely. IDumbbz is and has always been an inflammatory ass but he's playing the field as a sort of devils advocate in certain cases which makes him a popular asshole with the other side of the argument. By their powers combined, everything is [highlight]terrible[/highlight] and we'd all be better off just turning the internet off for a week and going outside, taking in the sunshine, and probably getting hit by a mack truck while their mass of asshattery continues to spiral out of control like a collapsing star. Public discussions on twitter are not the most indepth and well thought out dialogue you can find on the internet, for a bunch of reasons - the community, the short nature of the messages, the fact [I]anyone[/I] can meddle in, unwanted or otherwise, and potentially cause a lot more problems than was around initially. There's a myriad of reasons why it's a fucking terrible idea and why it's downright retarded to expect other content creators, people whose careers are built on [I]entertainment[/I], not [I]politics[/I], to publicly involve themselves. The fact they're friends with Jontron and that would compromise this friendship is just one of these reasons. And I can't emphasize enough how bringing these things to the public would just spill more oil on the fire and cause [I]more shit to go wrong[/I]. These discussions are not meant to be had on a website like twitter, there's a reason why most of the "debates" on this site turn into a clusterfuck with everyone and everything interjecting and throwing shit at each other.

Usually when people argue under pressure, they get instinctively defensive and plunge themselves in a belief that's a long shot from what they originally thought in an irrational manner. That happens in even relatively calm discussions like at the dinner table, or even in SH as you see all the time. I imagine being live on stream is a pretty stressful moment. I'd wager that Jon has his center-right beliefs - and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that - but said some questionable stuff under pressure. Have you ever had an experience where you'd say some kinda dumb shit during an argument, but later on talked something out more calmly, one on one perhaps? Sapientis est mutare consilium. although this doesn't mean that you have to change your opinion, just present it in a more rational and confined manner.
