It feels like they killed the people in maybe the first 5 minutes of shooting but shot the place to shit just to make sure.
Only the Russians can do something like this, if it was any other nation people would be throwing a huge fit.
Russia is the only Super power that really has the balls to say FUCK YOU to the rest of the world.
Not saying it's a good thing, just pointing it out. Also china kinda has that attitude, and NK. Really any communist nation...
They still dont have 'nothin On U.S. Navy SEALs. A SEAL can shoot a penny off you're head from 2 miles away. And keep doing it with you getting killed.

wasn't the longest range kill from a mile and a half though?
wasn't the longest range kill from a mile and a half though?
The SEALs get high tech shit and equipment. A Marine sniper did that kill. They are the guys who are asked sometimes to field test someshit who which not even hit public eyes or ears yet.

Please stop describing it like that. It makes you sound like an elitist American. We look bad enough.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longest_recorded_sniper_kills
Only one American has ever made it over 1 mile and he did it with a machine gun. I'm sure you'll say it was a SUPER SECRET CIA SEALS CLASSIFIED MISSION IN WHICH THEY KILLED TERRORISTS FROM 20 MILES AWAY AND WAS A SECRET, THAT'S WHY IT'S NOT ON THERE!
I wouldn't say that but snipers usually have a rule to not brag or talk about their kills outside of their classified reports.

In actuality, the states was beat out by a Canadian PPCLI member. Then the PPCLI member was beat by a brit. Longest shot recorded was something like 1.6 miles. And the dude got a double kill. True story, look it up.
I was off a bit, but i looked it up for you as a good gesture.
Wikipedia:
The longest range recorded for a sniper kill currently stands at 2,475 m (2,707 yd) and was achieved by CoH Craig Harrison, a sniper from the Household Cavalry of the British Army. It was accomplished in an engagement in November 2009 in which two stationary Taliban machine gunners were killed south of Musa Qala in Helmand Province in Afghanistan with two consecutive shots by CoH Harrison using an Accuracy International L115A3 Long Range Rifle chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum.[21][22] [23][24]
Normally yes but these are absurd distances that we are talking about. Any classified mission wouldn't attempt to take a shot from double the rifles effective range, they would go closer and do a good job of it. No classified mission would risk a shot like that and no non-classified mission would look past it.
Hell yes russia
You're very much correct.
Even in a normal combat mission a 2,475 m shot (current record) is normally a shot you don't take. But in some cases it doesn't hurt to go for it.

Also, if you guys don't know about this guy...

Check it out.
I found that pretty fascinating, as I am one for military simulators. The inside of that house must have been hell for the insurgents while they still were fighting to survive.
For the distance i was just giving a random example, I have a buddy who was a SEAL who confirms they sometimes would field test new weaponry on the battlefield. For instance the SEALs gave the SR-25 its test. Now its almost widely used that ranges from CIA Operations into hands of rich-ass mercenarys. Also Eugene Stoner actually MADE weapons for the SEALs.

Exactly what I was going to say.

AWP noob :argh:
Personally I find these kinda videos rather lacking, with a lot of these combat videos you just see a bunch of guys shooting at buildings and stuff as opposed to people running around in open combat with people everywhere.
Guess I'm too used to games and film.
Never knew that the russians used Eotechs.

Well in real life It's just as important to stay alive as it is to kill. If not more.
That Pecheng is fucking sexy

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. They do have their own reflex sights like the Kobra but I wasn't aware that they railfucked all their weapons and slapped american capitalist technology on them.
I doubt Russian soldiers care what's on their gun. As long as it makes it easier to handle the gun and more accurate.

Combat in reality has alot less to do with spraying at people out in the open and more to do with elaborate planning, strategy, tactics, and keeping yourself from getting shot. If you ask me it's alot more interesting to watch it and pick apart what they're trying to do. Brutal as hell and suspenseful too.
Never knew that the russians used Eotechs.
They don't use them at all save for a couple SF units, but they pretty much get to use whatever they request, as so long it's in the country's budget.

They don't. What's with all the rail and accessory hate, anyway? Sure there's needless tacky bullshit, but for any soldiers in combat they tend to only use them if they have practical advantage.

normally a shot you don't take? 500 meters or more is a shot you normally don't take. At nearly 2500 meters, you would be god damn lucky if you even manage to hit near the target with a high caliber precision built threadcutter of a rifle. 1000 meters is pushing it for nearly all cases in combat save for cannons and mortars.
I always love watching videos like this but I can never seem to find them...

I found some videos with "Russian Spec operations" here:

No harm done, but you did fail to do your research properly. The SEALs are CQB specialists and have very little use for long range sniper rifles. Usually they rely on souped up DM rifles, or shorter range sniper rifles for their sniper support.
Russians don't mess around man.
That PKM-Pacheng is one bad ass looking MG.
Why do they have woodland camo in the desert area?
It feels like they killed the people in maybe the first 5 minutes of shooting but shot the place to shit just to make sure.
Rule 1 about Insurgents/Suicide Attackers: Don't trust them. If they have an opportunity they'll take it.
WW2's Pacific Theater is a good lesson for this rule... Brutality meets brutality... So on, so on.
Why do they have woodland camo in the desert area?
They are in Russia, 90% of the terrain is woodland.
It's interesting that they're using Eotechs and not a Kobra sight or something.
