It's seriously the same story, evil white man arrives in foreign place, wants ore in the natives land, and one of the not evil white men falls in love with one of the natives. It's just that now it's cross species love.
So a dude gets an avatar of some alien dude, then gets in love with alien chick and fights against humans? That's rather generic.

The coolest part of the movie was when that dude falls off the back of the ship and hits the propeller on the way down, spinning him.

I think that that kind of a story was overused, but it could be true.

But it's a shit story. It ruined the CG! Lemme explain.
Alright, now it's a love story. That means that the aliens have to be fuckable. So they have to make the aliens look human enough to fuck, but alien enough to be.... alien. So they just end up looking like they do, like blue space cats. And then they sink 400 billion into it. Ruining the experience.
So is this out yet?
