I saw the first trailer on the internet and didn't really like it, but then I saw a different one in a theater and thought it was superb. I'm talking about the one that is mostly silent except for a soundtrack. Anyways, I'll definitely be seeing this, but I don't really have to high expectations. It's not the furryness that turns me off (because I'm not a moron), it's the plot; seems a little generic and moralistic. It probably would have been cooler if the aliens were a little more fucked up so there was reason to dislike them. The way it is now, it just looks like a movie about the native americans except set in the future. I'd like to see a movie where we eradicate the poor, harmless indigenous species, to be honest. Less formulaic.

To be more realistic, I really hope the Protagonist doesn't choose to stay as a Na'vi and live with them, that's way too generic and, to be honest, lame.

And I have to disagree on the fucked up aliens in it, not only the plot would be even more cliche, but it would entirely be based around humans. I kind of like the idea to switch to the alien side(probably because I didn't watched any of the other-side sci-fi's, either, if there are any), but if it will describe humans as douchebags(and I KNOW it will, I can smell it through my screen!) and constantly center around nature and magic and shit-nobody-cares-about-because-it's-dumb it might as well end up just as Ferngully. But I have to agree with you on the eradication thing. Haven't seen those in quite a long while.

The closest movie theater is in Canada about 200 miles away, I might drive there to see it. It looks freaking awesome.

This movie is going to be the biggest bomb in years. The trailers look like dog shit, and the forced hype they're trying to build for this movie (like the stupid Avatar-themed episode of "Bones" on FOX last week) just makes it more obvious that nobody gives a shit about this thing. It just looks stupid. A bunch of blue cat-people in thongs riding dinosaurs are kicking the ass of the Future US Marines and their mechs? What the fuck? I know it's science fiction, but why wouldn't we just nuke those furry blue buttfuckers?

I fuckin love James Cameron, I'm seeing this midnight premiere at Imax.

Yeah, I saw the advert for this. It looks great! Can't wait to see it! But to be honest, I don't think it's going to be an all time movie like Forrest Gump, Fight Club and Titanic.

The trailer seemed great on every other aspect but the damn aliens. I mean wtf, are those blue catelves stolen from a childrens book or a Disney movie?

Too bad none of those are reliable reviewers. Avatar is to movies what Modern Warfare 2 is to video games. 90% of critics are going to give it "4 STARS BEST MOVIE EVAR!!!!" just because it's so hyped and so popular.
