This movie looks visually cool but the plot seems like really generic Disney type shit
Also alien boobs wtf is this Mass Effect
Nothing wrong with a little alien side-boob.
But haven't we seen this plot a billion times already?
1.Evil humans
2.Good aliens
3.One human joins aliens
4.Big fights.
District 9 anyone?
what are you? Furry?
It looks like one of the coneheads.
District 9 anyone?
Except District 9 wasn't a love story.
Or Pocahontus.
saw the midnight showing last night in 3D imax. fucking hell that was awesome.
The 3-D was just what they said it would be, mind-blowingly awesome. I would absolutely love to see more movies made like that. The way you could actually focus on different stuff on the screen was really cool. I can't get over how awesome that shit was. By far the best looking film I've ever seen.
The movie itself was also really enjoyable. I got over how goofy the aliens looked after about 10 minutes. There's also a few really corny parts, stuff that made some of the people in the theater laugh, but it's still a really fucking fun movie, and the 3-D just makes you enjoy it that much more. This really is a movie that has to be seen in theaters, and in 3-D. Can't wait to see it again.
Dances with Smurfs.
Pocahontas: The Future.
Call it what you like but I'm gonna see it in 4 hours.

I thought you were claiming it would be shit a couple pages back.
Anyway, I'm going to watch this, whether I have to see it alone or with someone else (probably alone, since no one else wants to see it.)
I thought you were claiming it would be shit a couple pages back.
When did I say that?
What the fuck, I remember seeing Transformers 2 at an IMAX nearby, but the only available IMAX is in Columbus (a one hour drive or so.)
Anyway, what do you recommend, me see it in IMAX non-3D, or see it at a standard movie theatre that offers 3D?
This movie has to be seen in 3-D.
When did I say that?

yeah let me know if it looks any better. but otherwise I'd say i've lost most of the interest I had in this movie. i was expecting something much more realisitc looking, in terms of the aliens that is.
This, as well as some other posts nearby each other.
I never forget, never :v:.

Alright, standard Movie theatre that offers 3-D it is, then.
I'm about to go see it in 3D in 45 minutes.
Smoking up in progress.
I didnt say the film was going to be shit I said the visuals weren't what I was expecting
but as I know now, the visuals were exactly what I was expecting

The only problem anyone had back then (August) was the fact the aliens looked goofy, which as I was yelling at everyone, that they were going to get used to the look after about maybe 10 minutes.
And you were right about that

I would recommend getting high for the second time you see it, I think that watching this while high the first time would ruin the experience.

:smug:
Just got back from it, it was really cool, the 3D is preety important in this movie actully.
BTW does anyone know if all of the movie is animated or only when it's in this weird planet "Pandora" thing?
I just saw this movie, unfortunately not in 3D. Stupid local cinemas with limited budgets.
Anyway, it was still pretty rad. They really put a lot of effort into it, and I don't have a lot of complaints. I wish the story could have broken loose from [sp]the standard mainstream plot with the troubled hero, how he gained their trust and then lost it and then came back and of course the big final battle[/sp]. They really had a lot of potential to do so, but oh well. They still executed the plot nicely, I think.
It was good, very good actually, but I wouldn't call it a masterpiece or anything like that. Probably a lot better in 3D.
I just got back from seeing it in 2D. Goddamn awesome.
Though...I don't know, everything looked so..surreal. It looked really real, maybe too real, so much so that I couldn't tell if what I was looking at was real or CG. Or was that just me?
But an awesome film.
Watched it in 3-D ... didn't want it to fucking end, the film was amazing - I want to live on Pandora :(
Was the 3D really that good? Most 3D films i've watched have ended up pissing me off by giving me headaches, or the glasses being gay and uncomfortable.
Is it worth it to watch it in 3D, or is 2D the way to go?
Yes, the 3D was absolutely amazing. You have to see it in 3D. Seeing it in 2D would just be so lame.
This is the first film where 3D really is needed to really enjoy the film.

Pretty much this. Saw it in Real3D and it was crispy as fuck.
Though I couldn't care less about the [sp]love story[/sp] the CGI was pretty damn cool and the fights intense.
Overall I'd recommend this movie, but only if you can see it in 3D.
Did any other cameron fans notice this about the finale:
[sp]the final fight between jake and quatrich in his power suit is basically a total role reversal of the final fight from Aliens between weaver in the power suit and the queen alien. This time around you're rooting for the alien to win. I thought that was pretty rad[/sp]
I just saw this thread and decided I must post the same thing I posted not too long ago from the other thread.
I personally found it bad. The story and plot was too easy to predict and there were a lot of cliché moments.
I'm gonna see it in 3-D tomorrow.
Saw it at the midnight showing, was amazing in the IMAX theater. I am proud to say I was first in line for it, totally worth waiting 4 hours in line.
Why is everything "Pandora"?

So, anyone mind spoiling the ending? Wikipedia holds no info on the end of plot. Do they make peace at the end or something?
