Does the protagonist stay on Pandora?
you should really just watch it, but then again this really needs to just be seen for the visuals: [sp]yeah, and a few others with him[/sp]
It is a good movie
Anyone else find Neytiri hot? :q:
Best movie ever
So is the story actually decent, because it looked pretty generic from the trailer.
Sweet feathery Christ that was a remarkable movie. I was kind of under the impression the 3D would be gimmicky and useless, but it was so well implemented that stopped noticing it at some points. Immersion is the goal of the film and I can say without a doubt I was completely immersed in the story and the environment. I was hoping for a good movie and Cameron delivered, hard. Absolutely one of the greatest movie's I've seen in a long time.
Oh god. Oh jesus. That was one hell of a movie. I am sitting here, high off of movie goodness, and cannot manage to wrap my mind around how good it was. :aaaaa::aaaaa::aaaaa:
So is the story actually decent, because it looked pretty generic from the trailer.
The story is your standard Pocahontas story but it's SO well executed. It's a great modernized version of the story everyone's pretty much familiar with. Just go see it. And be SURE you see it in 3D. It will blow your mind.
I saw it in Real3D. Great movie, great 3-D.
Just saw it. Kickin rad 3D and the acting and effects were fine. But here's something that I noticed at the end that made the entire movie hilarious. [sp]It's fucking Ferngully.[/sp]
This movie has to be seen in 3-D.
I hate living in a shithole like this where the theatre can't even fix a 3D-rig.
I saw this with a couple friends today. It met my expectations. Not the most unique plot, though it was well executed. I felt the entire movie played out pretty well as a whole. Unfortunately however, I had to watch it in 2D, which was alright I suppose. The fact that Cameron helped developed a whole different camera so the movie could be watched in 3D kinda bummed me out though. The one thing my friends agreed on walking out of the theater was calling it a "tree hugger movie." To me that seemed like a bit of derogatory statement but we didn't discuss it enough for me to figure out whether they liked it or not. I could see where Cameron is coming from with the whole "man destroying everything" theme, and I can relate to it. Did anyone else leave the theater feeling the movie was too preachy or anything like that? Granted, the circumstances and issues in the story were a bit extreme, but I didn't feel like it was all "BAM IN YOUR FACE, NOW YOU SHOULD FEEL GUILTY."
Ummm, how is this a tree-hugger movie? I'd say it's more about imperialism than "saving the trees". People don't like when other people take their lands.

People don't like when other people take their lands.
I totally agree, and I'm not accusing or singling out my friends or anything like that, but I can see how there are some people with a different mindset. I'm sure there's people who think the crap we're doing right now to the planet or what the things the humans in the movie do is justified. I must say the director was quite gusty with his portraying the military and humans as a whole as an enemy, but if one can relate to or understand even a bit of the shit we as a species do upon ourselves and the Earth, then it's no longer an issue. In a way, I feel just a little bad for rooting for the natives instead of the humans, but you know they had it coming for them.
I want to see this movie, but I want to see it in 3D. Too bad the theaters around here suck dick and don't get 3D equipment.
Anyone else find Neytiri hot? :q:
Ebert did.
Really Really good movie.
Ebert did.
I'm sure we can agree that the aliens were designed to look good to us. Who wants Jabbas the Hutts flying across the screen for 3 hours?
me
Saw it about 14 hours ago, 'twas awesome.
If you say it's good Postal, I believe you. I'm seeing it today.
Best film evar.
Wonder if there is a rule 34 already.
Damn, I feel like watching it again in 3D
I want to see it in 3D now :( It was just so....I don't know what made it so awesome. It just was, I walked away and felt like a better person knowing that I'd seen Avatar. Also, did anyone notice any of the referances to other films/games throughout the film? I noticed that the battle suit things looked an awful lot like the meintenance suits from Aliens, but at the start, when the marines are all on the shuttle, no-one cracked an "ultimate badass" joke :(
This was awesome in 2D. I need to look up a Imax near here to go see it in 3D.
Am I the only one rooting for the humans? No really, like if I give a shit about the Xenos' ideals, they have resources we need so it's either move your ass or be killed. Sadly it seems that most directors don't have the balls to have the "bad" guys win. No, I haven't seen the movie yet (nor have I read any spoilers), but I'm pretty damn sure that the humans are defeated.
where did postal go?
