yeah dude can I suck your blood
I mean in the fact that you all talk about how amazing this movie is but you can't tell me how it's amazing.
Well if all you're going to say is you liked it and not why you liked it then I'm just going to have to assume your opinion is wrong.
How can you assume an opinion to be wrong. Its his opinion you idiot.
Maybe Avatar is CG porn for dudes in the same way that Twilight is guy porn for girls.
How can you assume an opinion to be wrong. Its his opinion you idiot.
Because he can't back it up. If my opinion is that "Manos Hand of Fate" is the best piece of writing in all of history, and my reason for it being the best piece of writing in all of history is that "it was totally frickin' sweet", then I'm probably full of shit.
I mean in the fact that you all talk about how amazing this movie is but you can't tell me how it's amazing.
why do I have to tell you it's amazing are you the queen of scotland or something.
Mining explosives. They probably didn't see any initial need to bring 500-pounders to a mining operation, though it is weird that they could take out a huge-ass tree with missiles and not the Soul Tree.
They couldn't use missiles because of that field that was messing up instruments. It was impossible to get a "lock" with missiles to focus them on one area. However, I found it strange that they were supposedly firing missiles blind and still hitting the natives flying around on birds pretty easily. Didn't make too much sense.

You have a very fucked up view on opinions...
I mean in the fact that you all talk about how amazing this movie is but you can't tell me how it's amazing.
I can tell that. It created a world different from what I am used to, a world I could believe that it actually exists. If a movie can trick me into buying it's world, I call that amazing.
I liked the movie simply for the reason that I liked the movie. I need not any scientifically tested reason to like it, I just like it. Why can't you be happy with that? Everyone has different tastes. The way I assess a movie and whether I choose to say I enjoyed it or not is completely different to yours, just like how we probably like different genres of music. I don't see why it's such a big deal that your opinion and taste just so happens to differ from someone else's.
Because that's useless. You might as well just be blathering like a brainless goat for all it's worth.

How did it do that.
You have a very fucked up view on opinions...
nah he's just so indie
How did it do that.
yeah and why are homosexual people homosexual.
You have a very fucked up view on opinions...
How so. These unfounded assertions are beginning to get old.
why do I have to tell you it's amazing are you the queen of scotland or something.
You don't. Though you keep acting like you do.
yeah and why are homosexual people homosexual.
Most likely because of slim genetic differences. Your point?
You don't. Though you keep acting like you do.
but how can I not tell you when you keep asking me :(
How did it do that. :/
How did it do that.
As I said, it created a credible world. While they are walking through the jungle you see all those different plants and animals, like the helicopter-gecko or the jellyfish seed. You know them somehow, yet they are something you've never seen before.
That makes me want to know how those creature work, live and act.
but how can I not tell you when you keep asking me :(
why is that :/
By being an individual who possesses a working brain.
A combination of inheritance and the flawed reproductive system.

I can respect that.
Though this does make me ask yet again, why did only the three animals with the most screen time retaliate against humanity?
[editline]10:38PM[/editline]
and how did you know this
Hundreds of years of biological research by the finest minds humanity has to offer.
Seriously I think this movie is getting way more praise than it deserves. XXX looks like it is less shallow of a movie. FFS Rush Hour looks like Stalker compared to this.
I realize that I have not seen the entire film but I can still tell that it is just some bullshit action movie that 10 year olds can watch and understand.
jackass 3 will use this camera type... I'm excited

okay and this took a total of 10 minutes or so and it is still very brief.
next time I'll plan out a long essay for all of fp to read so they can see the intricate depths of my opinion kay?

Stalker kicks ass. Tarkovsky is a badass.

I'd appreciate that.

I think retaliate is the wrong word, defending would be better. I guess right now you're talking about the Na'vi, the panther-like predator and the hammerhead. I think that's because they are the only creatures that are a real threat to the machines of the humans. We've seen that the arrows do jackshit against the windows of the helicopters/mechs, so it wouldn't make sense to bring them into danger.
Besides, I actually counted four creatures: The Na'vi, the panther, the hammerhead and the banshee.
And why is that?
yes I would like to know this too
Awesome blockbuster of a film, James Cameron doesn't skip a beat.
And why is that?
Stalker kicks ass due to amazing cinematography, brilliant characterization, fantastic locations, and incredibly thick atmosphere. It tells a story through images more than words, and fashions a world both uncanny and disturbingly real.
Tarkovsky is a badass because he slept in a fucking disease ridden contaminated sewer just to get a good shot. And he got cancer for it. But he also got the shot.
Awesome blockbuster of a film, James Cameron doesn't skip a beat.
I agree with this comment.
In before a demand asking for further detail.

Nonsense. What about those hounds that attack Jake? Even the lemurs could throw rocks or grenades or some shit.
And the Na'vi don't count, they weren't sent there by the forest.
Awesome blockbuster of a film, James Cameron doesn't skip a beat.
Totally agree
I'll say it again: We're getting off topic. Stalker and Tarkovsky have nothing to do with Avatar.
They have everything to do with it because it is a much better film and got no where near the amount of praise this expensive cash cow load of horseshit film is getting.

And so why is it that when I say how the atmosphere had me immersed in Avatar, I was "wrong"?
