I liked the movie simply for the reason that I liked the movie. I need not any scientifically tested reason to like it, I just like it. Why can't you be happy with that? Everyone has different tastes. The way I assess a movie and whether I choose to say I enjoyed it or not is completely different to yours, just like how we probably like different genres of music. I don't see why it's such a big deal that your opinion and taste just so happens to differ from someone else's.
This, this, and this again.
If it really entertained you why would you say you were losing money if the whole purpose of the movie was to entertain? Is that not contradictory? Your opinion is that it was shit overall, my opinion is that it was good overall, good enough for a second viewing, good enough to think about after finished watching.
I have plenty of other movies to spend my money on.
This for me had to be the best 3D movie I've ever seen I personally don't care if the story is good or not tho whole movie was visually stunning in 3D, My eyes loved it.
But the forest controlled who they attacked, where they went, what they did, how is this not mind control?
The eye candy entertained me.
Mind control would be me taking direct control of your thoughts, emotions, and impulses. Want a better explanation of why the creatures acted the way they did? READ THIS:

The problem here is that Majache is complaining that this work of fiction is not realistic enough, does not explain how everything works. Well it doesn't have to because it's fiction. Try to explain how a light saber worked in Star Wars. Nobody really can? But they still enjoyed the movie.

Threads like this remind me that most people on Facepunch are 14 years old and don't know shit about anything.

Admitting defeat gracefully is an admirable trait

Now see? If he had read it earlier these shenanigans might've ended 4 pages ago. :v:

I do say, he thought things through very thoroughly. Though the problem does remain that you have to think so hard just for it all to make sense, he's shown that you can indeed make sense of it, poor narrative choices aside.

It's fiction, it doesn't have to make sense. That's why it's fiction.

Oh nonsense, as long as I have an opinion that contradicts theirs it's quite possible this could go one for all of eternity.

When you put 15 years and a team of biologists into making your world make sense, you can't give me the "it's fiction" excuse.

If you want to try to make sense of it read the original script, it has more details from what I have heard. No guarantees you will succeed.

See, and there you come to the crux of the problem. Even if you addressed all of my claims, I'm still going to feel compelled to tell you how you did it incorrectly. And so this will all inevitably devolve to the point where we're all nothing but simpering subhuman simians.
In order to avert this, I'm going to go play Space Hulk. Good day, gents.

Like I said again, it's fiction. Pandora isn't real, why must you include science into a fiction based movie? Why can't you simply enjoy the movie rather than having to rant about it for hours on end trying to get your point across. Look you don't like it and I do. We get your point already, no need to restate that you hate it and try to correct people in the thread for liking it. You're just acting like an asshole trying to make the film seem like absolute shit when it in fact is all a matter of opinions. Your opinion does not overshadow anyone's opinion, your opinion is YOUR opinion.

Dunno what you're talking about, I figured most of it out just by observation while I was watching the movie.

Believable yet fantastic science fiction makes it all the more enthralling. It's nice to think that someday we might have robot laborers in every home and ray guns, but when presented with a world that actually looks somewhat feasible and yet is distinctly alien it only serves to further cement my fascination.

I skimmed through the later parts of the script, and from what I saw, this 'epic battle' is all about the Na'Vi mercilessly slaughtering every human soldier and civilian that they could.
Sounds uplifting and fun.
Stop fucking nitpicking over a science fiction movie.
Jesus christ, I didn't see any of this when the newest Star Trek came out.

I loved this film! Probably best I have seen in the last 5-6 years.

It was above average, but I don't think it in any way deserves to be thought of as superior in any area other than visuals. Acting was meh, plot was double meh.
It was very polished and I did enjoy it, but if you think it was the best even in this year, I really suggest you watch more movies.
blue furries in space
Just got back from watching it, still got my 3D glasses with me. I don't care how people bash this, I was entertained, I enjoyed it, me and my friend's all walked out of the cinema blown away and for us, that was well worth paying to go see.
