I did not notice that :goonsay:
Watched it in 3D. Fuck, that was awesome.
3D is worth it so much! Great visuals
[sp]I didn't sign up for this shit[/sp] Straight from the book on generic one liners, still the CGI was awesome, great in 3D.
Jake said Hooah.
Film just went down a notch in my book.
A lot of the marines say hoooah. That's Hollywood for you
You realize that Hooah is a pretty standard word for Marines and Army, right? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hooah It refers to or means anything and everything except no.

Have you played MW 2? The rangers say "Oscar Mike" about every five seconds.
Ramirez stay frosty frosty oscar mike on those tangos at the burger town we got foot mobiles by that car to the east
Exactly. For a while after Transformers a lot of movies and books used "bring the rain" a lot as well.

Avatar has moved my number one spot on my top 5 list. 1. Avatar 2. The Dark Knight 3. I Am Legend 4.Lord of the Rings 5.The Shawshank Redemption Hey you can't disagree, they are MY top five, not THE top 5.

Frag grenades don't explode into a huge dramatic fireball

This movie was really fucking good, especially the ending
If LotR and Avatar are in the same list, I really don't know how Avatar can be higher... James Cameron really needs to take lessons from Tolkein in how to make a believable and immersing world, it's a shame he's dead.
Saving Private Ryan :smug:
Saving Private Ryan doesn't count as a "Hollywood" movie, it counts as a piece of raw eye gold.
Saving Private Ryan doesn't count as a "Hollywood" movie, it counts as a piece of raw eye gold.
Have you seen the storyline? That's the most hollywood shit going. Band of Brothers all the way. (I'm not saying SPR's not amazing though, because it is)
The trilogy of LotR is supposed to be a fantasy telling of the New Testament.
What? How?
I think Avatar was amazing, it was great 3D and not that 'lololololol there's a hand on your face lol' It topped District 9 on my list of favorite movies. I was completely immersed aftera few minutes.
The trilogy of LotR is supposed to be a fantasy telling of the New Testament.
Not really. It has been analysed like that by some over-eccentric fools, but most of it is just Tolkeins serious views on the world at the time (I mean, just look at how evil the east is and how anyone who is black or asian is evil - Tolkein was a major racist). Also, there's no real way I can see a proper relation to the New Testament, especially if you read the Silmarillian.
What? How?
The One Ring is a representation of the Cross (Sin) which weighs down Frodo (Jesus) as he tries to destroy it, Black Gates of Mordor (Gates of Hell) and Aragorn is supposed to be another Jesus figure (The King.) If you want, I could E-Mail the teacher who explained it to me and ask for a full lowdown.

Seriously I can't see a real way in how they relate. People always over-interpret literature.
I want to see the movie like 10 more times, god I wish there was 20 sequels
